Biceps! Beauty and the Peak

It's the May Bank Holiday here in the UK, so especially for those of you in places where you have to work today, a Monday blues-beating selection of our favourite muscle beauties old, new and in-between, all showing off their pride and joys.

imagebam.com
First up, Juliette Bergmann's exotic beauty takes us (well, she takes me anyway) back to the old days. Days so long ago that back then Swell thought all women in the Netherlands would be as heart-stoppingly gorgeous as Juliette and her compatriot, Erika Mes. But although I grew up and learned that wasn't true, I can still gaze at Juliette, her eyes seeming to bore into me from out of the picture, and I can still feel that same thrill I felt on seeing her for the first time all those years ago...

imagebam.com imagebam.com
2012 Woman of the Year Tarna Alderman and FMS readers' favourite Nataliya Romashko in very different settings and with very different stylings. But they're both absolutely stunning, I think you will agree, and at the end of the day a single bicep shot is always a single bicep shot, no matter what the goddess in question is wearing, how she's lit, or whether she's blond or brunette. It's all about the muscle.

imagebam.com
And talking of muscle, one of my current pin-ups (or post-ups perhaps would be better, whatever) here's Marthe Sundby and her pumped up body. That's quite a blood flow she's got going on there. And if what's happening under that vest is anything to go by, she's absolutely loving it. Swell has spent a fair (some might say 'unhealthy') amount of time with Norway's finest so far this year. Time well spent. What a woman!

Physique competitors do it with their hands open, as stunning and sporti Susanna Tirpak demonstrates here. Apparently, there's a vest exactly like this one that is also available, but it's not for hotties, but for women who are somewhat overweight, and there's a different word on the front: SEDENTARI.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
I do like a nice pout to go with my flexed bicep. The kind of pout that says 'It feels so good to have a bicep like this, don't you wish...' You get the idea. And when the pouter is as volcanically hot as Juliana Malacarne at the time of this photo, well, that's just cream. But that's not to say I can't appreciate a good bicep unless the woman in question is pouting. Take Geraldine Morgan, another FMS reader favourite, and her tattooed python, for example. Nothing to complain about here, is there?

Friend, compatriot and sometime training partner of yesterday's muse, Sophie Arvebrink, Sarah Backman is rumoured to have joined WWE, and is therefore about to get a lot more famous. So we thought we'd better post something now before everyone's jumping on this armwrestling champs' bandwagon. As a result of the rush job though, this picture was chosen before editing staff had the chance to take a really close look at it. Only when it was too late did one eagle-eyed member of the team notice there is something rather strange going on with Sarah's elbow. Nothing wrong with her looks though. Or her big, strong arm. Well, except that anyway! Is this the price top armwrestlers pay for their sport? Or maybe just evidence of a careless photo manipulator? Any readers care to comment?

And we leave you today with another beautiful European and her mighty arms. Katka Kyptova may have officially 'gone Physique' now, but it should be apparent to all and sundry that this clip was done long before that happened. Long long before. My advice is to turn the sound up if you're a fan of full-on grunting.

Enjoy!

Biceps! The Peakwick Papers I

The Peakwick Papers by Charles Swellickens

Part 1

I’m 16. Me and my classmates are on our way to Austria for two weeks of sightseeing, adventure sports and practising our German (and we’re also going to be drinking as much alcohol as we can get our hands on and trying to pull every Austrian female we meet, but those things were not in the official trip description sent out by the school to our parents, as I remember).

The coach is at Dover, waiting to board the ferry to France. Though we were in high spirits when we left London, now, two hours later, not having moved for fifteen minutes, even the most boisterous are low on energy, and the coach is pretty quiet except for the tinny sounds being emitted by a few Walkman headphones.

Then, suddenly, from a few seats in front of me, swearing and cursing, exclamations of disgust, other boys are getting up from the other side of the coach and moving across to see what’s causing these outbursts, and I look out of the window where the others are looking and see a couple of women to our left have got out of their car.

Immediately, I only have eyes for one of them. I remember her long, dark, curly hair and that she was wearing sunglasses. And I remember she was wearing a vest (although curiously, even if I close my eyes and try really hard to visualise that moment again, I can’t remember what colour it was). Anyway, what I can absolutely remember is that she was leaning on the car, resting her chin in her hand, her elbow on the roof. And the way she was standing and leaning on the car roof was showing off, in its full glory, the biggest bicep I had ever seen on a woman.

This was why my classmates were making exclamations of disgust, which soon turned into just shouting foul-mouthed abuse at her through the window. Now I’m not going to pretend that I was some kind of sensitive teenage boy, averse to a bit of foul-mouthed abuse of my own at certain times, but this was most definitely not one of those times.

I sat up and stared at her. Or rather, at her beautiful arm, her beautiful full bicep. The adrenaline rush came, my heart raced, I felt my mouth dry. Was anyone else on that coach feeling The Madness too? One of my classmates, perhaps one of the teachers?
I wouldn’t have noticed. I’ll never know. There was me, and there was her muscle, and for a moment there was nothing else.

And as suddenly as I had seen her, the coach began to move and she was out of sight and I could hear the others commenting how she looked like a man, how they hated women with muscles, how disgusting she had looked. And I thought of all those magazines I had under my bed at home, and all the women inside them and how turned on they made me feel. And I wondered if there was something wrong with me and whether I would ever be normal.

Once on the ferry I wanted to get away from the group. I wanted to locate this woman and gaze upon her and her magnificent muscular arms for the whole trip. I dreamed of just ditching the whole thing and spending the holiday with Miss Muscle and her friend at a beach house in the South of France.

So I told my mates I wasn’t good on boats and needed some air. For the whole crossing I wandered the decks, avoiding the other boys, desperate to see her and feel that adrenaline rush again. But I searched in vain. I never found her, and the fact that I had taken myself off for the whole of the boat journey just made me feel even more different, even more abnormal. It was a long way from the French coast to the hostel in Austria, and it seemed even longer with these thoughts in my head.

Biceps! Sophie Arvebrink

Young Guns

I remember the first time I walked into the gym. I was scared, I was skinny, and I was embarrassed. I thought it was so embarrassing. My goal was to look toned and beefy, and the road seemed long. Quite honestly, I felt it was impossibly long. As well as embarrassing. When the only thing I saw in the mirror was a tiny little girl, untrained. Luckily, a lot has happened since that day...
Sophie Arvebrink

Lucky indeed. For me and you, dear reader. Just look at how skinny little Sophie has transformed herself. But lucky for her? Well, I'd take issue with that. As Sophie says herself, she has earned her body by eating and training brutally hard.

I have a new addiction alright #cantstop #fighting

'It's time for biceps today!' I think, and blast forward to the dumbbells. Starting to warm up a few sets, to bring up the pump and the circulation in his arms, I have a thick sweater on me. Until I get the pump in the arms I always have a thick, and not too revealing shirt on. For me it's suicide to get into the gym in the tank and stand in front of the mirror - small, thick and pale. No thanks! Instead, I wait and rip off my shirt mid-session, and get me a really awesome surprise! Veins and muscles that protrude in all directions...

imagebam.com

Sophie is on a mission for muscle, experimenting with different training techniques, evaluating the results, and honing her own workouts accordingly. Last year she reported that she had started training twice a day. Nothing unusual in that is there? Well, no, but Sophie was training the same muscle group twice a day - heavy weights for low reps in the morning, low weights and high reps to total failure later in the day. I've tried to work out this way for a few days now, and the muscles that I have had time to train have just exploded! she said.

imagebam.com

By her own admission, Sophie's biceps are not quite yet where she would like them, but seeing her favourite quote is FUCK IT LET’S GET BIGGER AND BETTER, we can't see any reason to doubt that she'll be sorting out that particular issue in the very near future, particularly when you also consider her training goal. I simply want to gain more muscle, she says. More muscle in the right places.

Doesn't she say all the right things?!

On a scale of 0 to Jealous As Hell Of That Guy, I'd say I was pretty far from 0...

Sophie, now 21 years old, lives and works as a personal trainer in Stockholm. You can follow all of her adventures via Facebook, Instagram, and her blog at Fitness Guru. She also has an absolutely cracking You Tube channel, the latest offering from which is right here for your viewing pleasure.

Biceps! Elena Oana Hreapca

I feel good in my skin, powerful, sexy and confident…
Elena Oana Hreapca

imagebam.com
Oana runs her hands through her hair as she gazes at herself in the mirror. I stand behind her and gently place my trembling fingers onto her mighty biceps. Her skin is so soft, and my heart pounds as I make firm my grip in anticipation of what is to come. She winks at me in the mirror, inhales and then almost imperceptibly twists her wrists. The biceps were hard before, but that tiny movement has turned them into two solid balls of rock. There is no give for my aching fingers. I am light-headed, my breathing shallow, so in awe am I of her beauty, her strength and her power…

One of the great things about following female bodybuilding in the internet age is the ability it gives you to follow the development of your favourite women more closely than ever before possible. And one of the joys that gives us, as far as I’m concerned, is that wonderful time when you can see a woman approaching her best, her physique becoming truly breathtaking.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

And recent material of Oana has led me to the conclusion that she has reached that point now. In the last couple of years, she’s grown – there’s no doubt about that, and sacrificed none of her natural looks while doing so, but it’s more than that. Her muscles have matured. We are about to see her at her absolute peak.

imagebam.com

Her perfect eight-pack abs have, quite rightly, been renowned for many years. But now her whole upper body, and especially those biceps, impressive ever since she first came to our attention, are two of the wonders of the world.

imagebam.com

I can’t promise that all the ‘guns’ (or ‘pythons’, or whatever you like to call them) that we’re going to see this week are as magnificent as Oana’s are, but we are going to see a lot of them. After all, there’s nothing that says ‘powerful, sexy and confident’ quite like a female bodybuilder showing off her biceps.

Enjoy!

Muscle Beauty and the Baize of the Day

Cindy Phillips

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Cindy's been playing for years and still no one has told her you are supposed to hit the white ball with the cue. Mind you, if she always plays in a state of undress like this, it's not so surprising. She could play with the cue the wrong way round and I wouldn't say a word. Not because I didn't want to, but because I'd have lost the power of speech.

Muscle Beauty and the Baize of the Day

Angie Salvagno

imagebam.com

Angie seems hell-bent on inheriting Denise Masino's mantle of being the female bodybuilder most often photographed nude, so any image of her wearing clothes is a bit of a surprise these days, three in a row a real rarity.

Muscle Beauty and the Baize of the Day

Monica Martin

If this is where Monica wanted to break off from, I wouldn't be about to tell her she should have the cue ball behind the baulk line. I'd be too busy looking at the view and wondering if those 'shorts' were actually real or just painted on.

Muscle Beauty and the Baize of the Day

Kris Murrell

imagebam.com imagebam.com

A reminder of just what we're missing from the 2009 NPC Nationals overall winner (I couldn't believe it was so few years ago) and 'friend' of the (former?) WWE wrestler Batista. I'm not going to make any lewd comments about what I'm thinking about when I look at Kris chalking that cue, but what I will say is that as I gaze upon these images I can't help hoping Kris is going to make a comeback. Soon. Wow.

Muscle Beauty and the Baize of the Day

Dena Westerfield

Regular readers may remember FMS wondering aloud on a number of occasions about the current whereabouts of the much-missed Dr Sexy. Well, we can exclusively reveal that Dena has hung up her posing suit to chase her dreams of glory as a pool pro.

imagebam.com

I came across a women's 9-ball tournament one year when I was in Vegas for the Olympia, Dena tells us. The women run their own sport, can earn great prize money, and what's more, they command the respect of their male counterparts. I thought to myself, this is the kind of sport I want to be involved in.

Hard to argue with that.
