Inspired by... Anonymoouse

It's always nice to know that someone is reading my musings, and even nicer when they actually bother to share their thoughts and/or reach out a mutually female muscle appreciating hand. So, this week on FMS, for some of the lovely readers who have been in touch (whether by email or the comment box), a whole post inspired by them as a way of saying thank you for supporting the blog.

I hope they, and you, will enjoy them.

First up, Anonymoouse, who probably wishes to remain so, so even if I knew anything about him(?) - which I don't - I wouldn't be telling. Anyway, one of his (many) comments this year, one that was especially memorable, related to a clip of Colette Nelson doing some cooking during Domestic Muscle Goddess week back in June.

I love watching big muscle girls doing normal stuff (like cooking for instance) instead of the usual poses (as great as they are, it can get a little stale and repetitive)!

And so, especially for Anonymoouse...

BIG MUSCLE GIRLS DOING NORMAL STUFF

Like shopping, for instance - I told Tina not to flex, 'Great as your biceps are,' I said, 'It can get a little stale,' but she insisted. Sorry chief, it won't happen again, I promise!

imagebam.com

Or waiting for your late ass...

imagebam.com

Normal stuff like having a snack while catching up on some emails, not forgetting to make sure everyone can see your trophy. Or your arms. The SIZE of her ARM!

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Normal stuff, the kind of stuff you do ALL THE TIME. Like feeding a giraffe.

More shopping, well, a possible purchase anyway. A girl like Christmas (how apt!) Abbott needs to know what she's putting in that beautiful body of hers, doesn't she?

imagebam.com

Rene smiling sweetly at you across the table. Like I said, normal stuff.

imagebam.com

Getting those fluids in.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

And more shopping. Do you think Brazilian bomb Larissa Reis really dresses like this when she goes shopping? I know I would LIKE to think she does...

Jay Fuchs (on the right) and Skadi Frei (on the back) arriving at the club.

imagebam.com

And having that morning espresso. Nude. Is it just me or does anyone else sincerely believe that sexy muscle women like Monica really do walk around in the nuddy whenever they are at home? I, for one, am absolutely CONVINCED it's true.

imagebam.com

And finally, as Anonymoouse enjoyed Colette cooking so much back in June, I thought he(?) would like another cooking lesson. This time, a full fourteen plus minutes of the very very sexy Shawna Strong making some special wraps.

Enjoy! Another reader-inspired treat tomorrow...

Pull Up of the Day: And the Bride Did Pull Ups

"I looked horribly flat in that dress this morning
so I just popped into the gym and did 100 pull ups to get a little pump going"
has to be the best excuse ever for keeping you waiting.
I mean, you'd want to marry the woman who did that, wouldn't you?

Love the shoes too!

Pull Up of the Day: Marja & Brigita

MARJA

From front on, sir will note the pronounced 'teardrops' above the knees, the outstanding abdominal definition, and the volume and aesthetic curve of the biceps.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

BRIGITA

In this rear angle view, sir may like to appreciate the explosive shoulders and the layers of thick muscle revealed across the back as the repetition is performed.

The results speak for themselves...

And, a bonus ball!

Colette Nelson reaches failure, again and again, but not for want of trying -
check out the shaking. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Pull Up of the Day: You Don't Need A Bar To Do A Pull Up Here... But It Sure Helps

Take them down to the beach, and any rocky outcrop will do for an impromptu mini-workout as far as these gorgeous, sexy, fit, dynamic babes are concerned.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

I guess this kind of thing will make all the other girls jealous because their boyfriends can't take their eyes off her. Not to mention the fact that all the guys are jealous of you because you are the one who's with the sexiest, fittest babe on the beach.

Sweet dreams!

Pull Up of the Day: Iris and the Pull Up That Made (At Least) Four Female Muscle Fans

It was Jim who first brought us news of her, sprinting across the playground, dodging skipping ropes and footballs, towards the spot where the four of us would meet.

"I've seen a woman..." he panted.

I was sceptical, as were the other two members of the Serena Williams Appreciation Society. Meetings every Tuesday and Thursday, first break. Invite only. Top Secret.

"She can't be bigger than Serena," Al said.

"Or stronger," added Mark.

"She's both!" insisted Jim. "And she's blacker."

By the time the first bell rang, lunch money had been wagered on it. We would verify after school. Jim would take us to see this bigger, stronger and blacker woman.

*****

He led us out to the retail park south of the centre. Half an hour from the school at a reasonable pace, we were there in twenty, Jim bounding along like an excited puppy. A puppy who was excited to be having double helpings at lunch for the rest of the week.

For the first time I began to wonder if perhaps he was telling the truth.

Past IKEA we went, past the carpet and furniture superstores, past the trade building suppliers, and then past a couple of side streets and into a third. It was lined with what looked like lock-up garages. Tiny workshops for specialist craftsmen and women.

Jim stopped. "Guys, just hold here a sec, OK?"

He walked, well, he kind of skipped, actually, for the last workshop in the row, turning just before he reached it and grinning back at us.

"Hope you got that money," he called out.

The three of us watched him. We couldn't hear what he was saying but he was talking to somebody inside. Then he waved us up, still grinning.

"Boys," he said, "meet Iris."

*****

I recall thinking to myself at the time that I needed to try to take it all in, to remember every detail of her. Now, as I write, I find that if I close my eyes I am, in fact, able to see her just as if I was there again. The way her skin was so black and so radiant, the way her abs contracted with every breath she took, the aura of power she had, the awe I felt in her presence, and the muscles, the muscles, the muscles.

I recall she asked me how many pull ups I thought Serena could do and how I couldn't think of a number, any number, how I temporarily forgot what numbers were, and then I recall Jim laughing because I was so tongue-tied, laughter that got more hysterical as she asked Al, then Mark the same question and got no response from them other than the weird grunting noise Mark managed.

imagebam.com

"OK," she said, her voice like aural velvet. "Why don't I just start and you count and when I get to how many you think Serena can do you tell me, OK?"

At about 10 I stopped counting, mesmerised by the motion of her muscles. When Jim counted 100 I became aware of the hard-on I had. At 200, without pausing, she asked us to come and hang onto her and we did as we were told. Her body was the hardest thing I have touched, and with each repetition, apparently effortless despite the extra weight we provided, it seemed to get harder. Long before she started to flag, we had tired and could hold on no longer. She was unstoppable. She was invincible.

*****

We never met again as the Serena Williams Appreciation Society, but we did meet again. Three times a week at first, and soon it was every day and at weekends too. We shared the magazines we had each got, we compared our top ten FBB lists (Iris was always number 1 so we had to change the rules and make it a top ten excluding Iris list). We fantasised about what Miss Oakley, the new PE teacher, had under her sweatshirt (which she never took off, ever, even at the height of summer) and we discussed at length which of the girls in year 10 had the best genetics for building muscle. We called ourselves Iris' Boys, or the IBs for short.

Mark became a photographer. He lives in Florida now. You've probably spent quite a lot of time looking, among other things, at the work he's done with muscular women.

Al met his dream girl while doing Sports Science at Loughborough University. They moved to Tenerife and opened their own gym there five years ago. Their first child is on the way. Al says if it's a girl, she's going to be called Iris.

Jim made a fortune on the markets in his 20s and has spent the last ten years or so spending it. There isn't a top female bodybuilder he hasn't entertained at his Berkshire estate, his New York penthouse, his Venetian palazzo, or his Caribbean hideaway.

And me? Well, I'm writing a novel about the secret life of female muscle lover...

Pull Up of the Day: Valerie Garcia

American by birth, now resident in Guadalajara, Mexico, Valerie Garcia competed in her first figure contest at Musclemania Latino at the beginning of November, and finished 2nd. Not just a gorgeous face and magnificent physique, Valerie is a Law graduate, with degrees in Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Justice and Psychology.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Like I said yesterday, a feast for the eyes. Lean and sexy, Valerie's shoulders and back muscles explode as she pulls herself up. There's also the crazy lower back to enjoy, not to mention the fact that she's also squeezing her tight little bottom. Very decent hamstrings too. And you get her abs and biceps in the mirror. And she's smiling.

You can follow Valerie on Facebook and Instagram.

Enjoy!

Pull Up of the Day

I do love a good pull up pic (are there any bad ones?).

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Firstly, the fact that she's doing a pull up at all as good as guarantees that she's already fit and strong, and has the body to show for it. Consequently, she's not likely to be wearing much more than a little top and shorts to do her pull up because she's keen to show off that fit and strong body she's built for herself. And last but not least, as the pull up 'works so many upper body muscles at the same time', it gives the female muscle head a veritable feast of muscle to enjoy as she pulls herself up. The wider the grip, the more action on the lats. Narrow the grip, more action on the arms.

What's not to like?

imagebam.com imagebam.com

It's all good. And here all week.

Susanna (Bet You Can't Keep Your) Hand(s Above the Table) @NPC Nationals 2013

imagebam.com

Like I said, the best for last. She may have finished 9th, but in Slave's book she's a winner every time: the groin-tingling muscle goddess Susanna Hand. I doubt very much I am introducing Susanna to you, but on the off chance that I am, you're welcome, and know that I am enjoying the idea that right now you are feeling what I was feeling the first time I came across Susanna, courtesy of 'El Mariachi' on the forum whose first rule is you do not talk about it. I had seen pictures of her before that, but hadn't had a name to go with the beautiful face and that saliva-inducing body.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Thanks JL*!

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com
Susanna at the 2013 NPC USAs, where she finished 4th

Her condition at the Nationals wasn't her best. Her main focus this year had been the NPC USAs back in July, where, as you can see above, she was a bit more ripped. Nevertheless, whatever package Susanna brings, she has that certain something, the thing you can't describe but you know when you see it. It's a kind of 'star quality' that radiates from her, and although I'm not in the habit of getting upset about judging decisions (anymore!), I thought ninth was a tad on the stingy side, if only because it robbed us of Susanna's routine, and another posing suit, in the evening show. Damn!

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Fortunately, Susanna is probably not too upset. I really don't get too hung up on placings, she told Promoting Real Women after the USAs. And while she is ambitious, she doesn't see getting her pro card as the be all and end all. I would love it but I don't determine whether I am happy or feel successful based on that. I think some people get so fixed on it and we know if you get a pro card, you are not gonna become rich.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Rest assured the ole favourites folder is bulging at the seams with Susanna material right now. There will be lots more Susanna on FMS in the near future (and no doubt in the not so near future too). We'll leave you today with a backstage shot and ask whether you did manage to keep your hands above the table. Well, did you?

imagebam.com
There are some jobs you wouldn't mind, some you would really like, and some you'd give up a part of your body to get. I wonder if you can guess which kind the job of applying stuff to Susanna's lovely body hands-on is for me!

Enjoy!

PS. A word about the photos this week. There are comprehensive contest galleries for all NPC and IFBB shows at Muscular Development, RxMuscle, and NPC News OnlineHardfitness is also excellent and there is the added bonus of it being all about the ladies, but isn't as comprehensive. In my opinion, there isn't a better female muscle contest photographer than Gene X Hwang, and it has been his shots from the Nationals that I have mostly used this week. You can find all his photos of the heavyweights and all the other classes and divisions at Gene X Magazine.

Size Matters @NPC Nationals 2013

Today, more matters of size from the heavyweight class at this year's NPC Nationals, with not one, not two, but FIVE big and beautiful women. You lucky people!

LEA LOUISE GIEGER

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Sporting the kind of jawline we haven't seen since the days of the great Michelle Neil, Lea Geiger finished 10th in what was, as far as I know, her first major show.

Now, I'm not saying anything about anything, but let's compare Lea at a show in 2010, which was the Natural Northern USA (drugs tested), and the 2013 Lea. We can certainly see that three years has been plenty of time for Lea to put on an impressive amount of muscle...

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

Lea was a competitive figure skater as a child, and says she started lifting after she was so struck by 'the amazing physique' of a woman she saw in the gym as a college student that she introduced herself and started working out with her. From Pittsburgh, Lea is now a personal trainer who gives out advice on Ohio Health Radio (really! Check it out, Lea and Dr Sam Christian MD, Saturdays at 10am on WTTF, and online here).

imagebam.com imagebam.com

LISA FONSECA

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Lisa Fonseca was another of the competitors with little contest experience, although she seems to have a lot of potential. Compare Lisa's previous outing at the Southern States Championships to her condition at the Nationals and the progress is obvious.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Hopefully, she'll be adding to her YouTube channel in the future so we can keep an eye on how this 40+ muscle woman progresses in future. Despite finishing at the bottom of the class, she certainly seemed to be enjoying her experience at the Nationals, and there's some serious size under that posing top.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

APRIL O'REILLY

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Joining Lisa at the bottom of the class, but like Lisa, still a winner, April O'Reilly had plenty of size but fell short on conditioning. However, don't discount April for the future, because on the evidence of her 2012 NPC Southeastern USA win below, when she does get it right, her size means she brings a very attractive package to the stage.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

From Florida, April's husband runs a fishing charter business - again, really! Captain Mick O'Reilly is proud enough of his wife's achievements to let all his fishing buddies know about how she's getting on via the Pensacola Fishing Forum. And who can blame him? I wonder if the name of his charter business, Angry Bird Fishing Charters, has anything to do with when April's on the contest diet...

imagebam.com imagebam.com

I rule our house! says Cap'n Mick. At least when she is at work... Arrrrgh!

KELI WATKINS

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

A lady who never seems to get it wrong when it comes to preparing for contests is New Jersey's Keli Watkins, who deservedly finished runner-up to Victoria Dominguez.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

If we follow Keli from (top left) her victory in 2007 at the Eastern USAs via the 2009 (top right) and 2011 (bottom left) North Americans to this year's Nationals (bottom right), her consistently spot-on conditioning and increasingly impressive muscularity suggest that it won't be too many more shows before Keli will be appearing with Victoria in the pros. In Fort Lauderdale, I thought she had the best abs in the class, and some lovely mouth-watering veins traversing her back.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

Mmmm. yes. Big and ripped is GOOD!

WENDY WATSON

imagebam.com imagebam.com

And finally, another of the amazing over 40s, the more familiar face and compact super-muscular package of Wendy Watson, was awarded 8th place.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Wendy is an achiever in her professional life as an engineer as well as in the world of competitive bodybuilding, working in the Business Development arm of a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of engineering equipment for the global market. I am fortunate to have a company who is supportive of the time this sport takes and blessed to make enough money to support my expensive habit! she says.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Wendy's size matter is how her bodybuilding transformed her life after years of battling with obesity. Everything in my life changed – my energy, my health, my confidence. Of course my body was the biggest change and I still can’t believe I can weigh 170lbs [77kg] and be in a size 4/6 after years of being in a 14/16 at a weight close to that. And she reckons what keeps her on track is preparing to compete. I love how I feel, but I still struggle with my weight – the big girl in me hasn’t left the building. My way of keeping myself in check is to choose a competition and focus on that date. The fear of getting on stage unprepared is more motivating to me than the pizza I want to eat. Once my head's in show mode, the only thing I see in front of me is the goal of taking my body to that level of competition.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Congratulations, then, to Wendy and all the other heavyweights, whether we've mentioned them this week or not, and irrespective of their placing.

Our review of the NPC Nationals 2013 ends tomorrow.

And we reckon we've saved the best for last.
