The Games Are Coming: Sheila Barden

Starting on 19th July, the CrossFit Games, unlike the European Union, shows no signs of getting any smaller. The Games started in 2007 on a small ranch in Aromas, California. The winning woman, Jolie Gentry, was awarded $500. This year the prize pot is a cool $2.2m. Athletes from 175 different countries participated in qualifying for this year's Games. Now the top 40 women will do battle for the title "Fittest on Earth", currently still in the possession of Iceland's Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir.

As has become customary on FMS, our CrossFit correspondent Aiden has been analysing the field so you don't have to and has hand-picked a selection of the finest "Crossfit talent". We'll be meeting all five of his selections this week, along with two FMS picks - though we don't know much about CrossFit, we do know what we like!

SHEILA BARDEN USA



28-year-old Sheila is an action-packed 5'0" and started with CrossFit in 2011.




Tackle Football. That's right, I played on an all boys team, and I was a captain.
What of it? I've won a dodgeball championship or two in my life as well.
I eat when I'm hungry, which happens to be all the time, and I eat a lot.
Just trying to upgrade my wardrobe to medium.



This is the "biggest" I've ever been in my life, 134lbs and jacked. It's a strange mental place I often find myself in, to live in a body that is natural, yet have people tell me I look like a man, I'm too muscular or so many other rude comments. I don't care.
Let me repeat that in case you chose to skip that last sentence, your opinion of me does not bother me or affect me in any way. I've worked really hard for 4½ years, I eat more than most grown men, and I love my body.



I do everything in my life hard and fast. Life is hard when you're a CrossFit addict.

BRAZILIAN WONDER #3



Not the best quality pictures, I thought to myself, but DAMN especially that one on the right. Is she standing right in front of his face because she's so into herself she gets turned on giving him an eyeful or because she's so into herself that she hasn't even noticed him? And then, I couldn't even decide which scenario was hotter.



Say hello to Grace Kelly, no really, that appears to be what her name is. Or Grace Kelly Bom Bom. She adds that to it. Or, just plain ol' Gracesex, which is her Instagram moniker. Can't you tell? She's the shy and retiring type is Grace. Not.



To say she's grown a bit would be putting it mildly.



She's fully on her way to becoming an entirely different species altogether.



She's the latest WFF Champion of São Paulo, and as you may know in the WFF they call the FBB category "Extreme Body". Somehow that seems entirely appropriate.

Awefilms have come a-calling already.



And they're pretty good at spotting the next big thing, the new extreme.

HOT MUSCLE PACKED RAW SEX POWER



6 Weeks to go until Tampa, says Lisa. I fly out 5 weeks today. I get the feeling she's counting the days - as in she's excited, not as in she's a professional FBB who totally counts the days because it's her job. Looking to bring an improved package this year. My second year, she reminds us, under the guidance of Alina Popa.

Having seen the job Alina did on her last year, not to mention the job that Alina did on Elena Oana Hreapca to prepare her for that guest posing routine in Omaha recently, the mind would boggle even if Lisa wasn't currently posting image after image of her ever more freakishly extreme pumped up body. But that is, in fact, what she's doing.

Top 5 today, no Olympia invite... [IFBB Dallas] Europa has always been such an amazing show and I love competing here. I got second last year, this year I got 5th - with a much tighter package. It is a little hard I'm not gonna lie, because I am an athlete and I train to be the best, and I came in my best the rest was up to the judges. Nonetheless I loved being up on stage after taking a year off, it felt absolutely amazing! We will get feedback to see what I need to work on, irregardless I'm always working on me, to be better every day!



Can't help feeling a bit sorry for Tina. She seemed a bit upset by her placing. And you don't need to convince me that IFBB judges sometimes get it wrong. But at the same time, I'm finding it a little hard to care that much. As long as she keeps doing contest shape photoshoots all dolled up and wearing next to nothing... NG!!!




Perhaps the judges got a bit overwhelmed. Perhaps when Tina came onto the stage, thigh muscles quivering as she strode forward in her Figure heels, more than one judge was so overcome with such a bad case of The NGs that his shaking hand wrote down a 1 that looked suspiciously like a 5 and sealed Tina's fate right there. It's a theory!

BRAZILIAN WONDER #1



From the (sadly these days necessarily) secretive world of our old friend C. Moore Glootz comes the first of three Brazilian Wonders this week on FMS. Lucky people!



Wonder #1 is Janaina Pinheiro, or, to be more precise, Janaina's beautiful bum.




It's not, I grant you, the kind of sun-obscuring wide load that seems to be so common in her native land, but something altogether tighter, more sculpted, more honed.

LIZ MONTALBANO, BACKSTAGE

This, I don't mind telling you, left me so open-mouthed my breakfast cereal went tumbling down my shirt. Condition: Me, says Liz Montalbano, NPC Figure goddess and builder of this insanely ripped bod. Color: Danielle Lazaro (NPC Physique competitor and stylist, make-up artist and - quite clearly - a tanning expert who likes to take it dark). Thank you for this insane tan, says Liz. I absolutely love it.



This was, I believe, taken before Liz's appearance at the NPC Garden State Championships recently. She won her class and came 2nd in the Over 40 class.
Yes, OVER 40. It's hard to know where to look, but when your gaze arrives at that incredible detail across her left pec, well, I find it hard to look away.

GREEK GODDESS



We first met Tereza here on FMS when the possibility of a Greek exit was the biggest headache the EU had to deal with (seems like a long time ago now) and most recently, we brought you news in passing of Tereza's crowning (again) as Greek Physique champion during our week of Size Matters - see Too Big for Her (IFBB) World.



I'm a sucker for those sultry Mediterranean ladies even when they haven't got big bulging muscles, so it's hardly surprisng Tereza sends me into a full swoonspin, and she's been in fantastic shape recently - before, during and after her triumph at her national championships. But there's even more to it than that I think.



I've said before that despite all the potential overkill it creates, social media gives the female muscle fan the opportunity to see that moment when a young female bodybuilder starts to fully realise her potential. To watch her reach her peak not in the narrower contest-ready sense, but in the more general sense of reaching her peak as a muscular woman. It's the moment when she truly becomes a muscle goddess.



I think Tereza has arrived at that moment right now.

She's not been the most prolific poster in the past, but that's starting to change - perhaps an indication that she's starting to feel like the goddess I think she has become. Now she's national champ there might be international dates like the Arnold Europe ahead for her. Exciting!!!
