NPC News Online, specifically Ray and his probing camera, was backstage at the Jr. Nationals. The Physique ladies' edit is definitely worth a look, if only for the marvellous footage of the entire "C" class (Destinee Bruch, Paige Sandgren, Emily Reed, and Kristina Vanderwaal Shober) all doing press-ups in a semi-circle - fast forward to 3.40 if you can't wait. Glammed, tanned and pumping up Figure phenoms from the same show come in two parts - here and here, and you might also want to check out their NPC Universe backstage edits - Physique here, and Figure here and here.

BODYBUILDING BABES & WILD FBB

"Instagram clips pasted together" is a very current and very popular formula for female muscle channels. I believe Bodybuilding Babes was one of the originators of the style, and though I'm rarely a fan of the choice of music, you have to doff your cap when over three and a half years and 32,000+ subscribers later, it is still going strong, pumping out an average of two clips per week every week. They either focus on a particular woman (eg. Strong Cosplay Girl Renee Enos) or come as compilations with names like Best of Strong Girls in Sleeves or Best of Girls with Abs Part 4. Here's a taste:



Based in India, Wild FBB is an altogether newer concern, promises "strong females, muscular females and daring females". These apparently include muscle women of all shapes and sizes, some very current, some a little off-radar these days. Currently Wild FBB is posting their edits at the dizzy rate of 30 or more per week! They're not all winners, but almost 8 minutes of Maria Rita Penteado is not to be sniffed at, and though considerably shorter, this Laura Pintado edit is just as unforgettable.

This though, is the jewel in their crown so far - The Queen around the time of her win in Toronto. "OMG" may be overused these days, but it's entirely appropriate here...



RIPPED AND VASCULAR BEAUTIES

Another new(er) channel that brings both current Instagram swoons and treasures from the archive to the same place is the "admiring muscular ladies" channel Ripped and Vascular Beauties. In the former category, you could do worse than join them in admiring Figure phenom Michele Da Silva, while fans of the so-called "old school" will be more partial to, for example, 12+ minutes of WPW Charla Sedacca footage.

Personally, I don't think Ripped and Vascular Beauties hits the spot quite as often as Bodybuilding Babes or Wild FBB do, but when they do nail it, they really nail it.

I recently came across barenaked cam footage of the ripped and vascular Heidi Worrell-Osborne in one of the murkier parts of the internet, but quite honestly, I think I actually prefer this shameless display of rock hard vascular eroticism...



But even Heidi can't match 16+ minutes of Angelica.

Amateur Week: The Smallest Dog

Amateur no more!



We only featured Jessica on here less than 12 days ago, a Woman of the Week no less. At that time she had just won a regional amateur show in Dallas, and was looking forward to competing at national level again. The last time she'd done that - at the 2016 IFBB North Americans - she'd placed 6th in her class, "the most conditioned competitor, but also definitely the smallest in terms of mass". 12 days ago we were concerned that "one of the smallest dogs in the fight" would suffer a similar fate again.




The Jr Nationals Physique line-up this year was nowhere near as big - as in numerous - as it has been in the past, but it was very high on quality (more about this later in the week). Happily for Jessica (and by extension, me), the judges on this occasion went for the best conditioning. And presentation. And the most sheer alpha muscle sex appeal. Jessica not only won her class, but she also won the Overall title. So despite this week being "Amateur" Week, let's have a look at new IFBB pro Jessica Booker Williams.



Despite the gushing praise she had for pretty much everyone she knows (including the Lord) in her interview with Whitney Jones, she hasn't taken to social media for the customary (and often extremely long) thank you post. Instead, after her victory she posted a 2018 Jr Nationals winning comparison with her 2016 North Americans self and simply noted that Hard work WORKS, and Muscle doesn't mean MANLY.




I've said it before and I'lll probably say it again in the future, but if you ever needed proof of that (for someone else, obviously not your good discerning self), you need look no further than this incredible muscular beauty. "Grace, poise and presence" is what Jessica believes her Physique division is all about. Few amateurs have personified that quite like her in recent years, and it will be interesting to see how she goes down with the pro judges. I have a feeling they might well like her.



Although probably not as much as I do.

Woman of the Week: Jessica Booker Williams

These days it is (hopefully) not necessary to have to prove to anyone that women with muscles can't be feminine, but should that need ever arise, you could do a lot worse than produce an image or six of Jessica Booker Williams to make the point.



FMS readers will certainly need any convincing - Jessica has been a fixture on the Hot and Hard 100 since 2016, with one voter going so far as to suggest she "should be submitted to the OED as the new definition of the word 'gorgeous'." Swell needs no convincing either - "I've got such a crush on her," I've gushed (more than once) in the past, left breathless by the gusto of her on stage presentation, her sweaty gym selfies, and her all round "sassy, classy and a bit badassy" alpha female muscle appeal.



Why are we returning to Jessica now? Well, why not? is as good a reason as any, but aside from the fact that I would be quite happy to make a Jessica post for every 10 new Instagram selfies she puts up, Jessica was back on stage recently for the first time since the 2016 IFBB North Americans, and in my house that's an occasion worth celebrating!




The event was the NPC Steve Kuclo Classic in Dallas in the middle of May - yes, believe it or not, Jessica is still in an "amateur" - where she won Overall Physique and the Masters class - yes, believe it or not, Jessica is going to be 40 before long!



And, as always with Jessica, the contest shots have had me drooling all over my keyboard. So glam and so ripped. Such beauty, and such sex appeal, born of the confidence she seems to have - regular readers will know there are few things in the female muscle world I love more than a women who loves it up there and makes you feel it, and I reckon Jessica is one of the best right now. Believe it or not, I get nervous, she says. I look at a competitor with more mass and my initial feeling is "uh-oh". But no way do I allow myself to entertain that feeling for long. If I don't believe in me, how can a judging panel believe in me? How can a crowd believe in me? Convince yourself that you can do it, she adds, and your confidence becomes infectious.




I'm so infected.



At the previously mentioned 2016 North Americans, Jessica was placed 6th in her class - "the most conditioned competitor, but also definitely the smallest in terms of mass". And when she competes at her next national level show, the problem that she "will almost always be one of the smallest dogs in the fight" (her words) remains. However, just as at the 2016 NPC Southwest Championships, which she also won, Jessica was a class apart (of a not insignificant field) at this national qualifier.

And thanks to Best Muscle Video, we can enjoy Jessica's victory in full.

He Who Laughs Last...



Oh how Jessica's followers laughed at "the putz in the background"! I don’t think Cleatus behind you is wearing proper gym footwear, roared one. The guy behind you is texting his friend about how this ripped blonde is checking him out, smirked another. Poor dude! If he's been going to that gym for a while (and I say that in the full knowledge there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that's true) then repeated viewings of a sweaty Jessica may have caused him to experience repeated, dangerous levels of "Madness". And look what it's done to him. The man is a bloody wreck.

Jessica is far too classy to mock the afflicted, of course, but it does occur to me that "Cleatus", while I don't condone his choice of footwear, or (somewhat more reluctantly) his (possibly) pervasive actions, definitely had the best view of Jessica in the house and may even have managed to record it for...er, let's say "posterity" (sorry).

So, I ask you, who's laughing now?

The Comfort of Strangers

I had a random dude comment yesterday, something along the lines of "aren’t you worried about losing your femininity lifting heavy weights". Damn. What would I do without the opinions and narrow-minded guidance of complete strangers!?



Then! The cutest little old man (like 80+) came up to me three times in the gym today. He told me I sure was attractive every time, and then proceeded to tell me I should probably do more light weight reps (although he couldn’t remember the word for "reps" at first (adorable!) because I kinda "looked like a man from behind", aaaand then proceeded to tell me one more time I sure was attractive. So... I concluded two things today from this/these encounters: 1. Old people are cute as shit, regardless. That sweet little thing didn’t know if he was coming or going and honestly didn’t offend me one bit, bless his heart. 2. The likelihood that anyone over the age of 80 read my rant on Instagram yesterday about this very topic is slim to none.

Just another day in the life of an NPC Physique goddess...

Clip of the Week (& Channel of the Year!)

Now in a normal week, this compilation of the best of FMS fave Jessica Williams' Instagram from World of Muscle Girls would be a shoe-in for Clip of the Week, but this has turned out to be far from a normal week. Alerted to a completely different compilation on one of the forums - an edit one of the members rated as "the best collection I've ever seen" - I was so impressed I surmised the creator displayed such craft they must have been in the FBB compilation business for some time.

And I hoped that they still were.

Second time this week my dream has come true!

Physique Dreams: The Jessica Williams

I've got such a crush on her.



Thus ended the few short paragraphs we were able to spare for Jessica Booker Williams as she entered your Hot and Hard 100 list at a surprisingly modest #63. At that time, the swoony Jessica had only just competed for the very first time at the NPC Southwestern Championships. She had won the Novice Physique title, the Masters Physique title, and the Overall Open Physique title. Not a bad weekend's work.



And a couple of week's later she was victorious again at the Ronnie Coleman Classic.



These two winning shows enabled Jessica to set her sights on a national level contest later in the year, and the contest she chose was the IFBB North Americans - the very same show where we began the week with Theresa Ivancik. Now could you imagine two more different physiques than Jessica's and Theresa's?! But there they were, competing in the same division at the same show. Perhaps that is the beauty and the curse of Women's Physique - but that's a question for another day.



In her class (not the same as Theresa's), Jessica ended up 6th. Pretty sure I was the most conditioned competitor in my class, she wrote afterwards, but also definitely the smallest in terms of mass. She also took 4th in her Masters class - it's easy to forget she's in that age bracket when you look at her, and very hard to believe she's a mother and three children have come out of that incredible body, two of them at once!



Regular readers will know there are few things in the female muscle world I love more than a women who loves it up there and makes you feel it, and I reckon you can tell from the photos that Jessica is one of them. Believe it or not, I get nervous, says Jessica. I look at a competitor with more mass and my initial feeling is "uh-oh". But no way do I allow myself to entertain that feeling for long. If I don't believe in me, how can a judging panel believe in me? How can a crowd believe in me?




That oomph is, at least partly then, born from a confidence she forces herself to exude. Convince yourself that you can do it, she tells her Instagram followers (36,000 and counting), and suddenly, your confidence becomes infectious.




It bloody works, doesn't it?! And it seems the more she does it, the better it gets. I enjoyed every minute on the stage, she said of her North Americans' experience.



But it would be wrong of me to give you the impression that Jessica is all about the contests, all about the placings. Nothing could be further from the truth, in fact. We've noted before that she seemed to arrive on the fan forums with a fully-formed physique, ready to compete. With her Exercise & Sports Science and Physical Education degrees, I think we can safely assume that she has been living the lifestyle for quite some time, and it's the life she does it for, not the silverware. This is my lifestyle of choice, she explains. I enjoy pushing myself. I enjoy being disciplined. I enjoy getting better every day. If it was all about trophies or prep, I would have lost a long time ago.



After three babies, years in the workforce, and then becoming a stay-at-home mom, one day I began to wonder if this is how I would live and die, she says. I have ALWAYS had a hungry personality, always wanted to be pushed, always craved competitive challenges, and I needed to find that again in life somehow. Eight months ago, I wanted to make a change in life and pursue fitness to new levels.



The day after her shows this year you would have found her in the gym, exactly where she was the day before and pretty much every other day. Disciplined. Focused. Getting better. Always pursuing those new levels. Always stunning. I'm sure there are women who hate her for being so damn perfect, but I'm also sure others can't help but be inspired by this (in her own words) "sassy, classy and a bit badassy" alpha female.



It's a fairly common name, Jessica Williams. There is a bulkier and (forgive me) somewhat less attractive Jessica Williams, and there are (also somewhat less attractive) Jessica Williamses who compete in NPC Bikini and Figure as well. Our Jessica may have a common name, but she is one extraordinary (and extraordinarily attractive) woman. It's all in the attitude. Sometimes size isn't everything.



I've got such a crush on her.
