Sunday at Sea

Imagine...

The wife has been waving cruise brochures in front of your face for years, but never managed to get you on the boat. This year, however, she just went and booked it.

Four weeks of it. Your Christmas "present".

You set sail in August, but have felt nauseous since February.

But as you arrive at the port - with a month's worth of travel sickness pills - the radar goes off like it's never gone off before. Muscle to starboard (or is it port?), and from where you are she looks HUGE! You try - and fail - not to stare. She's right there, tight shorts, loose vest and OMG she's only bloody POSING in front of the boat.

imagebam.com

And OMG it IS her. It's KATIE LEE!!!

Katie (really) did take a well-earned break for a Caribbean cruise with friends recently - Dominican Republic, Honduras, etc. And I can't help wondering how many of her fellow passengers spent days and nights desperately manoeuvring themselves and their significant others into parts of the boat where Katie & Co. were while at the same time (and equally desperately) trying to cover up a tentpole the size of an oar...

imagebam.com

The more successful our voyaging female muscle heads were at that - and at stalking the gorgeous Katie during stop-offs - probably had a knock-on effect on the vigour, and frequency, with which their significant other got the "benefit" of that tentpole.

imagebam.com

Net result - your wife's now under the impression that if she wants a "romantic" holiday, then taking you on a cruise is the only way to go. "He's never like this when we do a city break," she says to herself after yet another (vigorous) pre-dinner (post-Katie-stalking) cabin romp. "Think I'll pre-book next year before we disembark."

The "Allure of the Seas", eh?

More Katie, including more Katie on vacation, on her Instagram.

Meet Me in St. Louis (Again)

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

In 2014, it was the show where Dani Reardon made her pro bow. A year later, Autumn Swansen's ex-Fitness competitor skills helped to win her her first Physique title. Brooke Walker was runner-up there in 2016 in her first pro show, and last year it was where Jill Diorio's epic calves impressed (fans if not so much the judges).

It's fair to say that over the last few years the St. Louis Pro has been worth checking out, and today we'll be doing just that with the Physique class of '18 there.

imagebam.com

Candice Carr will be a familiar face (and ripped hard body) to readers of a certain age. Well, did you know that this year she's made a comeback? Not as the Bodybuilder she was, I'm afraid, but rather as the new St. Louis Masters Physique champ.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

The Trinidadian former Central American Bodybuilding champ hadn't competed since the early noughties as far as I can tell, but was back on stage at the Atlantic Coast Pro in early March before hitting St. Louis three weeks' later. She doesn't give much away on social media apart from her faith, but she did say "there are no words to adequately describe the joy I feel at my achievement" after her win (before going on to thank God and Jesus). Placing 4th in the Open Physique class as well made for a very satisfactory return, and she certainly hasn't forgotten how to hit an abs and thigh pose, has she?

imagebam.com

We featured Sarah Fechter (briefly) in last week's Tube Watch, and here she is again, seven days before the St. Louis show (above), and glammed and tanned on stage.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

We would be tempted to boast that Sarah is our "discovery" of 2018 so far if it weren't for the fact that she's been competing as a pro since 2015, initially in Figure, then from 2016 in Physique. In the Research Team's defence, she has a single top 10 finish - 4th at the 2016 Chicago Pro - to her name, but they are still clearing out their desks. Once again, FMS finds itself needing to hire researchers, preferably - for once - researchers who aren't going to embarrass us. Applications should be sent to the usual address.

imagebam.com

Anyway, Sarah... She's a Bachelor of Exercise Science with her own Fitness club, even her own "Sarah Fechter Games" coming up from May 21st. "Fitness saved my life", she says, and you can find out how in this candid YouTube interview from last April.

imagebam.com

imagebam.com

And while we are in the realm of the gorgeous, the stunning Stephanie Flesher made her pro debut in St. Louis - the first time we've seen her on stage since the 2016 USAs.

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

That was when she won her pro card, and enough FMS readers were impressed to put her into the Hot and Hard 100 at #73 the following spring. Sadly, she disappeared from this year's list, but I would guess that now she's back competing (and sharing saucy shower clips on her "Firece Fit Steph" Instagram), she may well reappear in the Hot and Hard 100 in 2019. This is just the beginning, she said after her pro debut, before promising us that I'm gonna keep getting better. I'm gonna drop jaws...

Mine has been on the floor for some time.

imagebam.com

A new wave of Brazilian IFBB Physique pros have been doing rather well over the last couple of years (Dany Castilho, Priscila Cavilha, Ivie Rhein and so on), and at this year's St. Louis Pro another title for Brazil was delivered by the very classy Marjorie Beck. 1st here, she had already shown 2018 form, finishing runner-up to Natalia Coelho (Brazil) at the Atlantic Coast Pro earlier in the month.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

Marjorie is never the biggest woman on stage, but she's always as sharp as a razor, and this show was no exception. She went to the Olympia last year, and now she's booked her place there again. I came to compete, win and secure the place for Olympia, she said afterwards. Mission accomplished! To be champion is to reach a goal that brings several new paths and with that new goals - she is a bit of a thinker, a philosopher even, as well as being a ripped Physique goddess, you see. This is how life moves.

And finally, Katie.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

Though she grows ever more popular with us fans, Katie has had her ups and downs over the last couple of years in terms of contest results. Unplaced at the majority of shows she's done since 2016, there has been the occasional bright spot - 2nd in Omaha last year, for example. St. Louis proved to be one of those occasions when the judges liked what they saw from Katie. She finished runner-up to Marjorie Beck, and felt "so grateful" to do so in "tough line-up of great athletes". I reckon the smile says it all.

Incomprehension

Take a good look at Katie.

imagebam.com

Take your time, take a really good, long look.

Look at her perfect hair, her beautiful eyes, her sexy pout that says "I know what this is doing to you". Take a look at that huge ball of muscle, the strain it's putting the fabric of her top under, how close to exploding through that fabric it is. Then look again at her eyes, her lips, and hear her deep and sexy voice - "I know what this is doing to you".

And she is not wrong, is she?

Imagine NOT being turned on by her.

imagebam.com

Impossible, isn't it?

You've probably got it out and already got to work. I did exactly the same thing when I first saw it up on GWM. A click to open the page, another to see it full size, unbutton...

Zero to rock hard in less than five seconds.

And, you may have noticed, Katie's hardly underdressed, is she? Not exactly the raciest photo I've seen of her, nor the raciest photo I saw that morning, which by the way was the one below and yes of course Tess Stumpf and her not-so-little nugget had exactly the same effect on C. Moore. I was, to say the least, busy that morning.

imagebam.com

I'm getting off the point though, which is my attempt to get into the head of the fellas who find themselves impervious to, even repulsed by, the charms of Katie, Tess et al, charms which are so obvious to you and me there's no need for me to describe them.

What do they say, these non-heads?

Well, OK, what I can (just about) imagine is that the biggest of the big are "a step too far" or however they are saying it these days. I can understand that some of the more extreme women are something of an acquired taste and have only minority appeal.

imagebam.com

But, I have a couple of problems with this "gone too far" argument.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

#1 is that it suggests, very strongly, that they are attracted to muscle women who aren't, in their heads, "too much". Most would deny this of course, but anyone who pays even lip-service to logic should avoid this argument. And #2, none of them seems very able to articulate exactly where they draw the line. Is it all Female Bodybuilders? Does it include Physique women? Where does "too much" become "not too much"?

imagebam.com

And don't give me any of that "looks like a man" toss either.

Lisa - huge, ripped, freaky and very much on the extreme side in anyone's book (in our books that's all the better) - doesn't look like a man here, never has and never will.

It's just nonsense.

"I was waiting for a penis to drop out of his shorts" I saw some wag had written on a Marthe Sundby (God rest her soul) YouTube clip once. I don't believe him, and not in the sense that I think his comment is uncouth and inappropriate and beyond the pale, but in the sense that I actually don't believe that was what he was waiting for.

You don't have to be as subjective as you or I to see that while muscle women don't look like your average woman, they don't look like muscle men either, and nor do they look like average men. So, have our wag and the rest of the "looks like a man" brigade forgotten to put their contacts in or is there something else going on with them?

There are two kinds of guys in this world, our currently-on-vacation friend 6ft1swell likes to say. Guys who know they love female muscle, and guys who don't know.

imagebam.com

The kind of guy who bothers to post a hateful comment is, according to Swell's theory, in the former group. They are "a knower", and they are living in denial. He pities them, and thinks we all should, even those who leave hateful comments, and he reckons they deserve our pity. They are so conditioned by their society that they are quite unable to redefine themselves as "the kind of guy who likes muscle women", as an outsider, as a freak, and end up trolling because they can neither give in to their lust, nor stay away.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

We happy few are the rest of the knowers.

What of the "don't knowers"?

A small percentage of those that don't know, Swell says (and I'm paraphrasing now), a percentage that, in this Age of Information is getting smaller all the time, don't know because they have never seen a woman with muscle. Then there are those who haven't found what he refers to as "their gateway woman" yet, but sooner or later will.

imagebam.com

Yer man might like his ladies dark and find enlightenment through Courtney Rheams' beautiful black physique. He might find his way in thanks to Louise Rogers' silicone MILFy rippedness or Guluzar's bulging flat-chested beauty. Look at Juliana and Jodi (three rows above). If you are here you are probably a fan of both, but you also probably prefer one of them. Same with our still-in-the-dark soon-to-be friends.

imagebam.com

This "gateway" service is, he believes, probably provided most often by women like Vanessa Lopes Moraes (above), less threateningly shredded, displaying many if not all of the conventional norms of beauty front and centre, just with added muscle.

It's a theory, and these paragraphs are just the tip of the iceberg.

Swell could write a book about it. Maybe he already is.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

For me though, the question of incomprehension remains. I, like many I have spoken to, were turned onto this life at such a young age that we can barely remember what it was like before - if we can remember at all. "Our porn", as they say, has always been Female Bodybuilding, and often we began not with the "safer" looks of a Vanessa or a Sandra, but at the more extreme end of the spectrum, and have worked our way away from there towards Swell's "gateway" women as the female muscle world has changed.

imagebam.com

Imagine NOT being aroused by Dani.

Imagine NOT being aroused by this beauty (I don't even know who she is!).

imagebam.com

It's still impossible, but having tried to understand these deniers/haters/non-believers we might come to the conclusion that it's impossible for a reason. They're just as aroused as we are. Either they just don't know it, or just haven't admitted it yet.

imagebam.com

I believe many of them will though.
