AMY NEELANDS: WITNESS THE THICKNESS



She has a private IG account (I'm still hoping to be accepted as follower #320), so there's not much I can tell you about Amy other than that she describes herself as a "giant foody", "photographer" and "bodybuilder" in that order. She also says she is a "rock & roll, hillbilly delux with a nice pick 'em up truck!" Some of which I understand. Anyway, none of that hits the nail on the head like one forum poster did in his comment on the above pic: Absolutely gorgeous meaty tattooed beast! Indeed.

MIREA HENRIQUEZ: FULLY PUMPED



Right now, with her next contest (Olympia Amateur Spain) fast approaching, Dutch Physique star Mirea is posting a truly awe-inspiring pic per day - sometimes several. We had to choose one, so we did - partly because it gives the viewer such a great angle from which to fully appreciate the thickness of her pecs, partly because of the wide, intense eyes, and partly because of those veins exploding all over her forehead.

ROSIE HARTE: (MUSCLE) PIT LICKIN' GOOD



Just over a year ago, ol' Swell here was confessing his sthenolagnia had taken a somewhat maschalagniacal turn, ie. I was into "muscle pits". Not armpits as such, but something better, MUCH better - a confluence of muscle, a glorious meeting of bicep, delt, lat and pec. Rosie seems to have brought out the feeling again. I'm even enjoying deluding myself that Rosie read that post then made this picture just for me!

MEGAN ELIZABETH COLVIN: BODY ART



First of all, let me say that I think Megan, aka "Miss Mightyy Mouse" is absolutely gorgeous, and she has great hair. Nevertheless, this upper body close-up literally made me gasp when I first saw it last week, so if you want to check how gorgeous she is and see her magnificent mane for yourself, you'll have to check her Instagram. Before you do though, take a very good gander at those hard abs, those veiny (and thrillingly pointy) pecs, and last but not least those mightyy traps and shoulders... Megan is doing an amazing job at filling the hole in my life left by Sierra Mangus' step back from the limelight. What's that? The tats are "too much", are they? Well, fine. It's your loss.

TOKS MACAULAY: CONTEST READY



I'm no expert, but I doubt very much this particular pic is 100% natural, but anyway, WOW! Judging by the posing suit (and the shredz), Toks was not about to go on stage at a contest with any IFBB links, and all the better for it - why shouldn't the ladies display all the muscles they've worked so hard for, especially ones that look so good?

Magnificent Mishina and Other Physique Dreams @IFBB Europa Orlando 2018

In our Pic of the Month post, we noted that Russian Physique Dream Valentina Mishina is "currently posting at a rate of one Hall of Famer per day" on her social media, and since then - guess what? - she's posted several more winning images.

Part of the reason Valentina's breathtaking body looks quite so breathtaking right now is that she's on a run of competitions that began with the Ultimate Warriors (she was 4th) and Ferrigno Legacy Pro (2nd) late last year. After a short pause, she was back on stage at the Atlantic Coast Pro (another 4th) at the start of March. Then at the beginning of this month - the show we're most concerned with here today - she gained another 2nd place behind Penpraghai Tiangngok in Orlando. She's basically been "on" since last October. It's little wonder she's so into showing off her magnificent muscles - her lower body in particular - right now. She's a walking freakshow.

And she clearly LOVES it.



I love 10-12 reps, she says. I love classic exercises. I love iron... Barbells, dumbbells, hammer machines. I've learned to feel every inch of my body, but I will learn more.

Get your breath back, dear reader, because you're going to need it. As with the Figure class in Orlando, Bodybuilding and Beyond were there to record all the competitors in Physique, all 12 of them. They're each on for about a minute, so get yourself comfy, you're about to see, apart from Valentina and Penpraghai, Hot and Hard 100 regular Diana Schanidt; Brazilian St. Louis Pro winner Marjorie Beck; Brittany Watts, one of the few women to have finished above Valentina this season - Brittany was 3rd at the Atlantic Coast; the dreamily gorgeous Sarah Fechter; the pint-sized Lauren Rutan on her pro debut; and the irresistible Katie Lee. And four more! All strutting, flexing, rippling and popping their considerable stuff for your viewing pleasure.

Penpraghai was first, Valentina runner-up - you already knew. Well, Lauren Rutan was 3rd, Sarah Fechter 4th, then in 5th Brittany Watts, and 6th Marjorie Beck. Katie had one of those days and placed down in 7th, and Diana Schnaidt was 8th.

Valentina is, after all this competitive effort, comfortably top of the Olympia qualifying table, and also - given her looks and the freakshow condition she's in - in demand.



Which is very good news.



More seriously - and I'm not saying glamour shots of Valentina are not serious, just not as serious - she's also reached a bit of a personal crossroads. Being based in the US for her competitions has evidently been a great experience. Now, a decision needs to be made - stay or go, although the way she tells it, it may not be the toughest of choices...

Here, I can fly, I feel free, she says (on top of everything, she's rather poetic, isn't she?). Unfortunately, my Motherland doesn’t give me these emotions. I need to decide...

Up? Or down again?



To avoid (unfounded) accusations of an anti-Russian conspiracy and the potentially disastrous hacking of the FMS server, I have been told by editorial not to urge Valentina to go wherever she feels happiest. MICHAELA AYCOCK: DRESSED UP VEINS



For the first time, Michaela has been doing a bit of glamorous schmotography work as well, and very exciting the results of that work have been. She doesn't really need any fancy lighting to bring out her freaky vascularity though. Not the tightest of dresses, and that's a good thing - if it were any tighter we'd probably spontaneously combust.

YEON WOO JHI: CELEBRITY MUSCLE



Not so much a nominee because of Yeon's physique (although those shoulders are fantastic) but more because of the sheer excitement on some of those fans' faces. This is exactly how it should be for all muscle goddesses. Adored. Idolised. Always.

ANGELICA ENBERG: DISGUSTINGLY PEELED



She's spent the best part of two years building herself up, and now it's time to reveal the results. And the results are (s)pectacular, but it's the facial expression (if you can drag your gaze up there for just a moment) that says it all: "Look what I have done to myself. I am muscle and skin and I feel AMAZING! OMG I am such a freak and I LOVE it!"

Happy St. Valentina's Day

A few years ago we discovered that today, February 10th, is the feast day of Saint Valentina. The ancient Latin name 'Valentina', we were delighted to learn, means "strong, vigorous and healthy", and since then we have commemorated the 10th February by 'canonising' three Valentinas - two Ukrainians and one Russian...

ST. VALENTINA OF KHARKIV



Also known as Valentina Chepiga.



One of the four European Ms Olympias in its history, and still pumping at 55.

ST. VALENTINA THE AMATEUR



Valentina Yefymchuk, 2006 NABBA Worlds and 2010 NABBA Universe champion.



That 2010 Universe was the last time the contest featured a female "Physique" (ie. Bodybuilding) class, so Valentina could still claim to be the reigning champ!

ST. VALENTINA THE SADIST



Our most recent St. Valentina is also our youngest.



Since her canonisation, Valentina Mishina has, we are pleased to report, joined the IFBB pro ranks. Already - thanks in no small part to her exceptional lower body - she has 6 2018 Olympia qualification points in the bag after a 2nd and a 4th place at (respectively) the Ferrigno Legacy and Ultimate Warriors pro events in November.



Today we celebrate "strong, vigorous and healthy" women everywhere. There's no prescriptive dogma in the Order of the Female Muscle Lovin' Brethren. Pay tribute to any or all of our St. Valentinas, or to any one or more of the "strong, vigorous and healthy" women in your (real or fantasy) life. It's pretty much like any other day.

2016 Review: January

Time to look back at the year that was on FMS.

It was cold in January, but there was much heat on the blog.

Sasha Rudenko



In the UK media, The Mail runs a story about Russian bodybuilder Aleksandra "Sasha" Rudenko, pictures of whom were reported to have "shocked followers in social media". Apparently, "fans claim her shock of grey hair is a sign she's destroying her body", but FMS is rather impressed, especially with Sasha's lovely legs.

Remember this story. It will be relevant later in the year.

Sadistka: Valentina Mishina

FMS falls in love for the first time in 2016...



Such model looks, and at the same time she's so into making her body more and more freakily muscular. It's an addiction for her, a fetish almost, or even in fact. Her VK and Instagram name is "sadistka" with a 666 at either end. For Valentina, it seems, pain really is pleasure, because pain means muscle and muscle means pleasure.

How Natalya Turned Pro

I was at the competition where the controversy took place. She was reminded of the right poses several times. She looked really pissed off at the stage most of the time. After the results she did not raise the trophy, and left the stage very swiftly. Cannot recall whether she left the trophy. No respect for other competitors, judges or the audience. Her body looked good (too much muscle for physique, rightly placed at the bottom) but her attitude sucked totally. ("ummelvirta", FMS reader)



And the pro card turned up soon after.

We still have no idea how she did it.

FMS begins its "IG stalk" of Melissa Lesage, aka Miss Beast. A woman who gets so disgustingly ripped she even disgusts herself. Last summer when I was shredded peeled & nasty, she says, I loved every last second of it! YES my liver, kidneys, and heart took a hit but did I DIE??! NOPE! And being a nurse, she would know.



If you want a laugh, says FMS, just look up some of the other million or so woman who dare to call themselves "Miss Beast" and compare. I'll tell you, there's barely a muscle between them, not to mention a damaged vital organ.

Valentina Rules @ACE 2016

After Hemuvisa's first (we hope of many) edits from the Expo yesterday, today we continue the 2016 Arnold Classic Europe theme with the triumph of Russia's Physique "sadistka", Valentina Mishina (see FMS passim), who won not only her class, but also the Overall title in Barcelona (not Madrid this year) a couple of weeks ago.

Followers of her Instagram (or vk page) would have been forewarned that Valentina would be arriving in Spain in truly jaw-dropping condition, and given the competition - your 2016 Hot and Hard 100 #1 Cris Goy Arellano in the (tall) class, and in the Overall posedown Brazilian Priscila Cavilha, who finished top 3 in the Arnold Amateur in Ohio this year - top shape was what was required for the win.

In the event she beat Arellano (who seems to have had a bit of work done on her nose) decisively to win the class, but took the Overall title from Cavilha by just a single point.



When we first met Valentina on FMS back in January, we noted that she was gaining a significant and devoted following on the fan forums. Since then, that following has continued to grow, and this victory - and the resulting chatter - is bound to gain her even more devotees while taking the fans she had already to new levels of devotion.



Many of her fans make a point of noting she is unenhanced, particularly in the pec department, and that she is a "rare girl" for being tattoo-less. But mainly they just praise her beauty and her physique. She is a dream, wrote one of those fans in the build up to Barcelona. Hard, curvy, beautiful striated muscle from head to toe.



Valentina, meanwhile, seems to have got even more devoted to building that muscle, and the results (both physical and contest) speak for themselves. A former champion powerlifter, she has transformed herself in three years into (arguably) the top amateur Physique competitor in Europe, perhaps her next victory will be at the Worlds.

Happy St. Valentina's Day

Readers may remember that a few years ago we discovered that today, February 10th, is the feast day of Saint Valentina. The name 'Valentina', we were delighted to learn, means "strong, vigorous and healthy", and we celebrated then by 'canonising' the first saint of the Order of the Female Muscle Lovin' Brethren, our own St Valentina of Kharkiv, Valentina Chepiga, and declaring 10th February the day when we celebrate "strong, vigorous and healthy" women everywhere.



Then, exactly twelve months later another Valentina, who we dubbed St. Valentina the Amateur, and coincidentally another Ukrainian, the mighty Valentina Yefymchuk, helped us celebrate the feast of St. Valentina once again.



Well, if I keep finding Valentinas, I see no reason to stop...
