Love Her Back

Yesterday it was all about mostly covering up. Today, quite the opposite.

imagebam.com

I have an inkling that Laura Beaudry was the first topless muscle woman I ever saw, scrubbing her back in Musclemag (I'm pretty sure it was Musclemag, always that little bit racier than Muscle and Fitness). Brought up on summers at the beach on the south coast of England I'd seen plenty of women's backs in bikinis and swimsuits in my youth, but never a back like Laura's. It made quite the impression on young Swell, believe.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Perhaps this early imprint on my female muscle lovin' brain explains my special fondness for this particular angle on a muscular female body, although clearly I am not alone here, so it may just be these are simply hot pics and everyone loves them.

imagebam.com

For one thing, they are "worth exploring", as one forum poster has put it. The backs on the beaches of the south coast of England in my youth were, almost without exception, fat and rounded. The muscular woman, even the not very ripped muscular woman, has more detail in every square inch of her back than all out of shape women put together. Who hasn't dreamed of running their hands between those muscles, perhaps whispering in her ear as you do so, telling her how much you love how developed her teres major is getting as you caress its intersection with her latissimus dorsi?

imagebam.com

And who hasn't dreamed of being the back scrubber?

imagebam.com

Or, while we're at it, the lucky guy (or girl) who gets to take the pic? After all, it's no easy task to shoot your own back at the best of times. To do it and flex all those beautiful muscles as well is truly next level stuff, so more often than not there's (at least) one other person in the room to help out. Nice work if you can get it, particularly at contest time when your other duties might include applying tan and/or oil.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

Don't you just want to cup her lats and squeeze those thick, hard muscles?

imagebam.com

Pull her towards you as you reach around, her back against your body (if you are a tall fella like me and she's average muscle woman height of 5' not very much her lower back is going to be in just the right spot - think about it!), caressing nipples, pecs, abs while at the same time your tongue and lips explore her traps, her delts, her neck...

imagebam.com

There goes my overactive female muscle lovin' imagination again!

imagebam.com

Maybe these pics are not so different from yesterday's after all. Yes, there is a lot on show as opposed to a little, but just enough stays hidden. As a result, that biggest erogenous zone of all (no, the brain) receives all the stimulation it needs.

When Just Enough Is (Almost) Too Much

Endless fascinating is the muscular female body, and for me, never more so than around contest time. All those muscles revealed in all their glory. She is, as they say, shredded. None of her (natural) female fat to hide them, all of her (unnaturally developed) physique on display. Or, as is the case today, just enough of it.

Enough to get my (highly developed) female muscle imagination working overtime anyway. It's amazing how by revealing so little, she can suggest so much.

Susan Graham (left) before the Europa Phoenix last year. That never-ending vein on her arm! Those legs!!! And yes, they looked every bit as good as advertised once she had the tan and oil applied - see here. On the right, "I have a distinct impression that she is not one to miss leg days at the gym", writes a forum member. "She" is Ana Claudia Libâneo (aka this week's compulsory Brazilian) and I seriously doubt she's ever missed a leg day in her life. The beauty of the picture (and her physique) is that when you've finished ogling the truly incredible separation in her quads, you notice her "boulder" (as they say) shoulders are (almost) as insanely developed.

Loads more freakery on Ana's Instagram.

More of what Swell loves tomorrow. Enjoy!

First Love

imagebam.com

She was on the cover of the first bodybuilding magazine I ever bought.

This particular (UK) issue of Muscle and Fitness was possibly the first one I'd seen that had only a woman on the cover. And what a woman! I'd flicked through magazines in shops before, furtively ogling the female bodybuilders as the adrenaline rush that I have become so familiar with coursed through my body, but I'd never gone through with actually purchasing one. This time though the sight of Anja's incredible body, ripped and oiled in a black bikini was just too much. I couldn't leave the shop without the magazine, or more accurately, without the woman on the cover.

Dry-mouthed, I whipped the magazine off the shelf and went up to the counter and paid. For some reason, the shopkeeper put it in a brown paper bag, usually used to hide porn! Were my intentions that obvious? I quickly popped it into my bag and left the shop in a hurry. I bounced along the road, ecstatic. I was taking Anja home!

FMS, "Meine Top 5 Deutsch Muskel Mädchen: Winner"

imagebam.com

It was 1980 and I was 15 years old when I started training with weights. I was the only girl in the gym, but this did not bother me. I actually enjoyed it, especially since the guys were all amazed at how strong I was. Slowly but surely, I got into a regular work-out schedule. For the first six months, I trained twice a week. Gradually, I increased my training to three times a week, then four times a week, and so on. Then in 1981, I decided to enter my first competition, the Baden Wurttenberg championship. I placed second, that is second to last, but rather than letting it discourage me, it fueled my ambition and I trained even harder.

Anja Langer, "My Story"

imagebam.com imagebam.com

By the time I was taking Anja home, she was one of the best female bodybuilders in the world. There had been several more contests, first local, then national, then international. At junior level, she was world champion in 1985, then in 1986 she took German and European titles and turned pro. Amazingly, she was just 21 years old.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

I didn't know any of that as I unwrapped my precious cargo from its temporary brown paper home, alone at last. Of course I masturbated while looking at her, there was plenty of that, but I also remember spending a lot of time just looking at her, following the contours of her muscles with my eyes. How perfect, and how fascinating her muscular body was! The way her shoulders curved up and out, the way her abdominals seem to be pulling her tiny waist in, her hard muscular chest, the way her thigh and calf muscles flared out - all these details and more became locked away in my brain.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

She had a relatively short career in the end. Runner-up at the Worlds (to Bev Francis) in 1987, 4th at the Olympia the same year, followed by another silver medal at the 1988 Olympia. She put her career on hold for a year, intending to return to the Olympia in 1990, but life got in the way, and she had her first child in January 1991.

imagebam.com

There have been tantalising glimpses of her since then. She did some photoshoots in 2000, and again in 2009 (with Marjo Selin), and 2010 for the German edition of Muscle and Fitness. She was, as you would suspect, still gorgeous, still toned and muscular even after a second child, a great advertisement for the sport.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

For me though, very few female muscle lovin' experiences have ever compared with the excitement of that first magazine purchase, and I will always think of Anja as she was on that cover and inside those pages. You never forget your first love, do you?

This Female Muscle Lovin' Life: Big Big Love

imagebam.com

30 years, give or take - funny thing about my first sight of a female bodybuilder (Carolyn Cheshire, UK TV), I can recall almost every detail of the event, but have only the vaguest idea of when it was. I could say it's the longest relationship I've had, but perhaps my lifelong passion would be a better way of putting it. 30 years...

imagebam.com imagebam.com

There have been times in my life when I've wanted to end it. Times when I've longed to be "normal". In my early 20s especially I regularly threw out all the magazines I had collected and vowed never again, but these periods of abstinence never lasted very long. A glimpse of Rachel McLish in a golden swimsuit on the cover of Female Bodybuilding, or Yolanda Hughes' rippling muscles on the cover of Women's Physique World. Off the wagon I tumbled, and the relationship was back on.

imagebam.com imagebam.com

The internet brought more images and more female muscle than I had ever dreamed of into my life. As I continued to struggle with my fetish - I came across the term "sthenolagnia" around this time as well - I opened up for the first time on newsgroups and email, amazed there were so many others like me. Finally (under the influence of some super duper class A help) to very close friends and carefully selected family I confessed I liked "fit" women. The more perceptive of them had noticed the sort of "sporty" women I pursued, so they were hardly surprised. I was "out". Sort of.

imagebam.com

In secret I indulged mightily. Paysites. Webcams. Addiction, and I knew it, although - and I can never quite explain why - I never did go down the session route. Nevertheless, change was needed, and it came after I joined a gym and got busy lifting. I'm not totally clear why, but this made me a lot more comfortable about being a female muscle head, and I started to embrace rather than fight who and how I am.

imagebam.com

A little over five years ago - about four years after I began lifting myself - I started Female Muscle Slave. Tentatively at first, then gradually with more and more confidence and commitment. It's been an outlet for my passion, and, I would hope, a force for good in the wider perception of muscle women and those who love them. And I got married, to a woman I was, and still am, deeply in love with. My interest in the gym has led her there too, and these days her dedication puts me to shame. If nothing else, I have helped to add a little female muscle to the world through her!

imagebam.com imagebam.com

In brief, this has been my female muscle lovin' life so far. 30 years, give or take, and I'm more loved up than ever. And just because it's Valentine's Day tomorrow, I thought this week I'd put together some love letters to female muscle. To my big big love.

Enjoy!

Veronica Bødtker

imagebam.com

Between the time we ask you (as we did on 1st February) for your Hot and Hard 100 votes, and the day voting closes (reminder: 28th February this year), FMS often wonders whether we should introduce someone new to the blog for fear of influencing you lovely readers a bit too much - in a post-war Europe CIA or present-day Russia kind of way. Half of the editorial team seem to think we should completely abstain from posting anyone new, and cite Kayla Rassatti's appearance in our 2015 list, and subsequent disappearance in 2016, as evidence that an ill-timed, if beautifully illustrated and very well-written post, can have far-reaching consequences.

imagebam.com

On the other side of the conference table, the other half of the team reckon that seeing as the intention has always been for the list to represent the hottest 100 hard women in the world now, it follows that if a hot and hard lady who has never featured on FMS before has recently caught our eye then it's not just OK, but actually our responsibility as bloggers to get her posted before voting closes (reminder: February 28th).

imagebam.com

Possibly though, the whole argument is irrelevant. Year on year you lovely readers have voted for hot and hard women who, quite honestly, we had no idea existed. Better informed and more up-to-date than the FMS editorial team could ever hope to be, you the readers consistently introduce far more women to us than we introduce to you.

imagebam.com imagebam.com
imagebam.com imagebam.com

So I probably don't need to tell you to say hello to Norway's Bodyfitness champ Veronica Bødtker. I'm sure you already know that last year was Veronica's first as a competitor, and doubtless you know that she impressed, winning silver at the Europeans and coming 4th at the Worlds. And you probably also know that when Veronica's not training or posing that tight little hot and hard body of hers or showing off her strength and/or flexibilty to her Instagram followers she's a nurse. In Oslo.

She's probably already on your list.

Compulsory Brazilian

imagebam.com

Every week I tell myself, no Brazilians. No "Wellness" or bumbum girls. You can do one week without a musa fitness. Come on! Be strong! You can do it. You don't need them.

But most weeks it turns out I do.

Maybe next week. Sigh.

She's So Kuhl

imagebam.com

Adriana Kuhl, Swedish entrepreneur, friend of sexy Sophie, and sizzling muscle heatsress, is in the business of taking more than her fair share of topless, "hair bra", selfies. Look at all that hair. It can't all be Adriana's, can it? Of course not.

imagebam.com

Adriana, you see, is also in the hair business, with her Stockholm salon, Wendy's Hair, and her online sales of hair extensions. So, what you're really looking at is not just a titilating female muscle selfie (I can't help myself with the puns and double entendres this evening), it's an advert for the very stuff that puts protein on Adriana's table.

And, I imagine, a very effective though not very expensive one.

imagebam.com

Thing is, imagine the same shot by a more conventionally-bodied woman. Perhaps an equally driven entrepreneur thinking about joining Adriana in the hair business. She wants to show off her extensions, she's followed Adriana's model closely. She lets those extensions hang down, and snaps away. To her horror, what she sees is more of a hair tunic than a hair bra. She doesn't have half of Adriana's body. Literally. No boulder shoulders, no muscular back, and thus no width. No hard pecs to keep those extensions in place - no abs to show if she could get the hair away from her tummy.

imagebam.com

Adriana has the body to wear that much hair. Our fictional unmuscular entrepreneur though would be positively drowning in it. Muscle women do it better. Again.

imagebam.com

Adriana also flogs Brazilian gymwear - like the hair extensions, she models it herself, and she models it very nicely indeed. Join her 100,000+ followers on Instagram for more Kuhl. Her YouTube channel, Adriana Kuhl OFFICIAL, is worth a look as well...

Enjoy!

And Happy St. Valentina's Day!
