Maybe It's Because I'm A Londoner...

That I love pictures of muscle women in London town...



Korea's Chu Mi Kim brought her WBFF Pro physique all the way to the London sunshine last summer. You still have those red telephone phone boxes in England? forum posters wondered. Well, yes, we do, but these days you can only find them where the tourists go. Sadly, arms and legs like Chu Mi's are also a rare sight as well.

Cindy, I believe, is a regular visitor, London being one of the stops for her global training business, and she regularly asks for tips on places to eat, or things to do there on her social media. So far she hasn't taken up my offer of hospitality. I'll keep trying.



You won't find Crossfit Aldgate in most guidebooks, so major kudos to Hanah Jamroz for getting off the beaten track. I could well have been round the corner in Brick Lane enjoying a chicken pasanda while she was getting all sweaty there.

Sigh.



And here's Larissa and another ye olde red telephone box, plus Larissa, Big Ben, and a fella (blue shirt, not remotely looking where he's going) who may well be one of us. This is probably not the first time he's walked that bit of Westminster Bridge in the last few minutes, and as long as Larissa's body is on display there, who can blame him?

SHAWNA ON TOUR

At least it's not raining.



Shawna was less than impressed with the British summer...



But luckily, London wasn't the only stop on her Eurotrip last year. She also took in Florence (one morning bright and early on a bike), and - with "dear friend" Rene Campbell - had a weekend in Amsterdam. Quite the traveller she is, listing "countries I feel blessed to have seen and experienced" on her Facebook page. So far, as well as the UK, Italy and Holland, Shawna has been to: Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Canada, and Mexico.



Surely one of you lovely readers must have seen her somewhere?

A New Golden Age? Part II

PumpItUp: My next pairing is the WPW cover of Lisa Lorio and one of my all-time faves Janet Tech with modern media savvy model-look gym-goddesses Larissa Reis and Oksana Grishina.



FMS: Janet and Lisa wouldn't look out of place in Physique either. In Lisa's case, Figure even. Gorgeous women, utterly exotic and other-worldly at the time I came across them.

PIU: I suppose for me, with Janet especially, it was the facial looks, the lean beauty, the particularly friendly smile. Yes, Lisa is definitely more figure in that cover.

I also remember seeing that issue in my local newsagent (a rarity for the then bi-monthly WPW) and plotting how I could get it discreetly into my sweaty hand and out of the shop. I guess it was always more exciting to see two women on a cover than the woman hanging off the arm of some huge guy.

FMS: Lisa Lorio I remember for one picture where she was wearing nothing but braces on top. And I think that is an example of what is the biggest difference then and now. A single image living long in the memory. In 20 years will anybody recall individual (iconic?) images of Larissa? I doubt it, but given there is so much of her out there it kind of guarantees she will live forever as it were. Lisa, Janet and the other women of that era, I'm not so sure.

Interested why you called Larissa and Oksana "Media savvy", how so?

PIU: I was probably thinking of their product endorsements and affiliations. Like Larissa, she has more than one sponsor and a store linked on her site and some pretty impressive photo shoots and videos around.

FMS: Larissa is certainly a canny businesswoman, out of necessity I imagine given her past.

My next two: (young) Juliette Bergmann & sexy Sophie Arvebrink.



PIU: Juliette is one of the coolest Europeans to grace the Olympia Stage, her Olympia routine to Janet Jackson's "Control" one of the most memorable.



Sophie is one of the new self-promoters with an emphasis on gym workout shots. Has she ever done a shoot for one of the paysites? Would we have ever seen her like in the pre- internet/Instagram age?

FMS: Definitely not. Sophie is totally self-promoting as far as I know. She would have had to compete in the past. You're quite right, we'd have never heard of her.

Juliette was one of the few Europeans who remained based in Europe but made a splash in the States - even in her early days. Incredibly beautiful woman quite apart from the body. Those eyes!

On the Beach...

Funnily enough, I will, with a bit of luck, actually be on a beach by the time you read this. Yes, Swell is taking a short, well-earned break with his wife (and yes, in case you were wondering, she has been doing her lifting like a champ - but I'll tell you all about that when I get back). Whether it was the anticipation of feeling the sand beneath my feet, I couldn't say, but when I thought about what to schedule for the blog while I was away, some sexy female muscle on the beach immediately sprang to mind!

Down in Rio, Eva and Roberta are wondering when I'm arriving...



I'm not expecting to see any physiques as magnificent and muscular as our selections today on my beach (more's the pity, the wife might take inspiration from them!), but rest assured I'll be keeping the female muscle radar fully on [is there an OFF switch on that thing?! - ed.] and any sightings I do get will be reported thoroughly.





Where all these female muscle beaches are remains a mystery. But I'm going to keep looking. Somewhere out there there's a beach with absolutely nobody on it except Anne Dudash and Susanna Hand, both wondering where all the female muscle heads are when you need to get some lotion on. Where is this somewhere?



And on another beach, Holly Chambliss is holding a sun lounger for me...

It's always nice to know that someone is reading my musings, and even nicer when they actually bother to share their thoughts and/or reach out a mutually female muscle appreciating hand. So, this week on FMS, for some of the lovely readers who have been in touch (whether by email or the comment box), a whole post inspired by them as a way of saying thank you for supporting the blog.

I hope they, and you, will enjoy them.

First up, Anonymoouse, who probably wishes to remain so, so even if I knew anything about him(?) - which I don't - I wouldn't be telling. Anyway, one of his (many) comments this year, one that was especially memorable, related to a clip of Colette Nelson doing some cooking during Domestic Muscle Goddess week back in June.

I love watching big muscle girls doing normal stuff (like cooking for instance) instead of the usual poses (as great as they are, it can get a little stale and repetitive)!

And so, especially for Anonymoouse...

Like shopping, for instance - I told Tina not to flex, 'Great as your biceps are,' I said, 'It can get a little stale,' but she insisted. Sorry chief, it won't happen again, I promise!



Or waiting for your late ass...



Normal stuff like having a snack while catching up on some emails, not forgetting to make sure everyone can see your trophy. Or your arms. The SIZE of her ARM!



Normal stuff, the kind of stuff you do ALL THE TIME. Like feeding a giraffe.

More shopping, well, a possible purchase anyway. A girl like Christmas (how apt!) Abbott needs to know what she's putting in that beautiful body of hers, doesn't she?

And more shopping. Do you think Brazilian bomb Larissa Reis really dresses like this when she goes shopping? I know I would LIKE to think she does...

And having that morning espresso. Nude. Is it just me or does anyone else sincerely believe that sexy muscle women like Monica really do walk around in the nuddy whenever they are at home? I, for one, am absolutely CONVINCED it's true.
