I've waxed lyrical before about La Hoshor, her body and her almost magical and universal sex appeal that reaches out to female muscle heads everywhere, no matter who our individual personal favourites are (see Treasures from the Archive Part II: Stimulating the Imagination). Back Back in the Day of the Day

I wish the kind of artistry and grace Diana brought to the sport of female bodybuilding would return, so I'm not so much including her for the muscular development of her back, rather as a reminder of a time when the 'routine' was a chance for expression, rather than an opportunity to hit some poses (vaguely) in time to a popular song.

I can't imagine that many of the 'routines' that we see today would provoke the kind of prose reminiscent of descriptions of artwork, which, of course, is how she sees herself:

Against a black pallet the spotlight captures an image of strength and beauty. Sculpted by years of disciplined training the physique is hard and chiseled. Each muscle developed and perfected as if designed by the hands of a bronze creator. 

The audience is captivated by the sight of perfection that stands still before them in a statuesque manner. The music electrifying, the thrill of suspense in the air, poses become fluent as classic dance and modern movement are incorporated into the unique and distinctive routine. The energy moves smoothly across the stage in a mesmerizing and tranquil fashion, unlike anything ever seen within this venue and sport.

A Treasures from the Archive special this week. Some of the all-time greats, from behind. This week we celebrate some of the best backs from back in the day.



I couldn't think of a better way to start, a better woman to start with, than the legend that is Paula Suzuki. So perfect in shape, if she'd been alive in Ancient Greece, it would have been her back that gave Pythagoras his best ideas.



You don't need special glasses to see her thick, bulging 3-D back. A legend.

Lisa Krog's bedding is as minimal as her clothing. Presumably this is because there isn't much sleeping done on that bed. You get to sleep in the corner when she's finished with you. Nobody knows where she sleeps. If indeed she does at all.


Does anyone know what this style of swimsuit/bikini is called? The 'T' perhaps?

When Britain's own Lisa Cross does MMMC, she not only does minimal, but also makes sure that the little she is wearing is about three sizes too small.

Pick-up: An MMMC Fantasy

It’s actually the car that I notice first. You see a lot of sights in this city but a classic 50s American car in pristine condition isn’t one you see every day. And it sounds as good as it looks, the engine purring as it comes to a halt at the crossing. But when you see a great car, you always save a glance for the driver.

When I finally do look, I find I am looking at the most muscular woman I have ever seen up close. And as far as I can see, she’s sitting in her car, driving around in broad daylight, wearing next to nothing.

My heart almost jumps out of my chest. My mouth becomes dry. I can’t help but just stop, stand and stare as everything around me disappears. Everything but her.

The light is still red. She turns her head and suddenly she’s looking at me.



I know I’m gawping but I just can’t pull my eyes away. She’s looking at me and she’s smiling. Not a grin, the smile is a little enigmatic, a little Mona Lisa, like she’s amused at the reaction she’s causing, amused at the power she has. I feel my knees give a little, I have to remind myself to breathe. Then, as if she has a kind of irresistible magnetism, I find myself stepping slowly towards the car, towards her.

The light has turned green and a horn sounds behind her, but I remain in her spell.

And then the door of the car swings out in front of me, a long black boot holding it open. She is there before me in all her glory. She is wearing so little I am stopped in my tracks again as I try to take this vision all in.



But my eyes can’t settle on any one part of her, flitting from her thick, vascular forearm to her hard, flat stomach, from her rippling pecs to her mighty thighs.



Every square inch of her is beautiful muscle. Muscle so hard, so pumped, that it pulsates outwards against her perfect bronzed skin.

The horn behind her sounds again. Unhurriedly, she looks over her shoulder at the other driver then back to me.

I think you’d better hurry up and get in…

MMMC Icon: Ruthie Lucchesi




This iconic photoset of Ruthie in 2007 from FTV is another of those that sears itself into your brain, never to be forgotten. Ruthie loves her minimal clothing, but, in my opinion, she never looked better than she did here, and the wondrously small outfit certainly does her magnificently sexy physique justice.



I always found it hard not to pay special attention to her bullet nipples stretching the ‘outfit’ to infinity and beyond in the over-the-shoulder shots, but really, in these pics, wherever you look there’s something worth seeing.

Melissa Detwiller crossed over from the porn world, and was a fine addition to the ranks. There was a time when she seemed to be everywhere in the female muscle lovin’ world, and when she wasn’t wearing nothing, she was wearing very very little.

I wonder where she, her revealing outfits and her poptastic pecs are now.

A couple of MMMC pics of ‘Ironfire’, one from way back, the other more recent, but both revealing a woman utterly confident in her body and ready to show it off. I love the first for the diamante choker, among other things. It’s a pretty classy picture all in all, and the sparkle goes a long way to giving it it’s class. The second is pretty down and dirty by comparison, but there’s nothing wrong with down and dirty, is there?

Our MMMC week continues with a young Colette Nelson, from an iconic photo and video clip set from Awefilms. So much woman wearing so little, and such an absolutely gorgeous woman at that.



In Central Park. In New York. In broad daylight. And only a tiny ‘swimsuit’ between Colette and arrest. Her beautiful muscular curves stretch what fabric there is so that very little of it is actually in contact with her skin, which just makes it even more revealing.



But don’t you agree that the fact there is a little something unrevealed, however small, is what makes these pictures such groin-tinglers?
