Gone But Not Forgotten: The Street Fighter

Over the years in this forum and others, I thought he was a unique presence. Someone who had an interesting perspective and whose contributions had a consistent point of view. I still remember his coming-of-age encounters with muscular women, which were always fun to read. And of course all those amazing video posts, which must have taken hours of hours of time to construct - and to a Luddite like me, most appreciated! One of the real grown-up presences as opposed to the many trolls.

Reported on the forum whose first rule is... in mid-May, the passing of the man known (most recently) as "the street fighter" has prompted a number of heartfelt tributes.

I'm certainly going to miss hearing from him. He not only spent countless hours editing and posting the vintage [FBBing clips] that we all love seeing here, but he'd make great posts with a lot of enthusiastic insight, which included his own past experiences. He kept things light-hearted and entertaining and the best thing about this board was always reading one of his new video posts with commentary. I had the fortune to exchange several PMs with him over the years. Just a great guy.

His legendary posts brought us edited footage of contests from the entire history of the sport. A 1988 IFBB women's invitational event held in Japan which I'm pretty sure only a handful of devoted heads even knew about, let alone had footage of. The 1990 Iron Maiden, wrong result he reckoned, and complete - as always - with his own technical data: This has been floating around the web and I am unsure who made the original capture. I've attempted to reduce the artifacting from the original compression. But his love of the sport didn't stop when the moon pose was outlawed. Right up until last year he was still posting his own edits of shows - from Asia, Germany, North America - his love of the contest as great as ever, new divisions and all. Female bodybuilding is my first love, he wrote in 2017, but Physique is my mistress.

Today, we offer just a few of our favourite street fighter gifs, along with some choice quotes. A tiny selection of what he so passionately shared with his fellow heads.

I know there are a number of implant haters on this sight. 

However, if you have never experienced feeling a woman with implants under the muscle flexing her chest you should try it once. 

The reason being is that the because of the pressure on the implant from the contraction of the pectoral muscle the entire chest becomes hard. 

It feels like the entire breast is muscle.

Sabine Wick poses really fast on stage and a lot is happening that we miss so I had this idea. I made these gifs from the clip that stitchface posted (the best footage of Sabine Wick I've seen). 

I used software to create tweens (short for in-betweens) making frames based on weighted motion and inverse movement. 

This took the existing footage from 3 minutes to about 12. 

Then I combined the original and extended footage and slowed down her flexing but left her transitions at normal speed.

I briefly corresponded with him in late 2013, asking for permission to use some of his fantastic gifs. He was only too glad to oblige, and very encouraging about the blog. I particularly remember him saying that "you've really started to find your own voice", which - coming from him, a man whose knowledge of female muscle past and present was so great it was actually kind of intimidating - I found incredibly flattering.

We talked about our love for muscles several times. He seemed like such a nice man and he was sincere in his passion, his love of sharing so cool. I will miss him!

For any forum member to get such a send-off is absolutely unheard of, and probably says more about the way he touched so many with his generosity and skills than any cack-handed attempt from me to eulogise him could. He will, indeed, be missed.

Hall of Fame: Bernie's Wardrobe Malfunction

Question: What do Michelle Baker in a purple dress, Juliette Bergmann in a see through top and frilly skirt, Debbie Muggli's and Sophie Duquette's bums, Christina Rhodes in orange, and the Abs & Thigh pose have in common?

Answer: They're all in FMS' Female Muscle Hall of Fame.

Now, it's been a bit quiet on the Hall of Fame front for over a year.

Time for something new. Well, actually fairly old school.

A moment at the NABBA Universe in 1990 starring British female muscle legend (and 1992 NABBA Ms Universe) Bernadette "Bernie" Price, a posing suit that refuses to play ball, and a sight that would have scored extra points from this judge if only...

The best thing about it (for me) is that Bernie realises her right pec is au naturel quite a while before she puts it away but keeps going until she can fix it when her back is to the judges and audience. You can see the moment when she thinks about popping it back in then decides to carry on regardless. It's at about the 20-second mark - she almost pulls out of the pose, hesitating for a beat, then she continues as planned.

That's your Hall of Fame moment right there!

I only recently became aware of Bernie's pectacular performance recently, thanks to the hard work of a couple of members of the forum whose first rule is, and their knowledge and archive and their sharing of it should not go unacknowledged. So, it is with thanks to "the street fighter" for the gifs and "bigdee35" for the clip that we welcome Bernie and her glorious wardrobe malfunction to the FMS Hall of Fame.

Summer Break I: Day 5

In the past, FMS has tended to close up shop for weeks over the summer, usually during August. We've tried not to leave you FMS-less on those occasions, and have consequently come up with ideas like Legs Month, August Picture Post, and, last year, While the Slave's Away to tide you over while we're sunning ourselves.

This year we're not shutting up the offices for one long holiday but a series of shorter breaks, but our commitment to give you at least one stunning example of female muscle heat to look at every day remains. So this year it's Summer Breaks, and this week we're taking our first of the year. We hope you enjoy our selections.

A Week of Favourites: Siberianar

I saw this on Google. I thought it was a real woman...



It's an easy mistake to make when first coming across the work of Andreas Siberis, aka Siberianar, a mistake I made myself. This digital artist from the USA is, as those more qualified to judge have pointed out, producing "the best 3D female muscle ever seen".










Don't be fooled into thinking you've seen his best if all you've seen are my ten selections here today. I've taken them only from the images freely available on his Deviant Art gallery. For more of Siberianar's work, you'll need to head to his Patreon page and cough up a bit of cash. $1 a month will get you some of it, $10 a month (or more) and you get the lot. Be warned though, he's recently made the decision to quit his job and the fallout has meant an end to posting for now. A temporary end I hope.



However he decides to continue - be it continuing on Patreon or elsewhere - I can't think of an artist whose work better deserves any support you can afford to give.

She's So Shredded: Abs Special/Special Abs

It doesn't take much to get old Swell going when there are abs around, so imagine the state I am in having just spent the best part of three hours scouring the archives for some of the most gorgeously detailed six-pack sights of recent vintage. Imagine!



My surprise that these architectural marvels are in fact the results of the work of a Bikini competitor! Knockout Norwegian Catharina Wahl better hide those little slabs up before she steps on stage for her next competition, lest the judges mark her down.



The excitement finding this gem of Aussie-based WFF champ Ildiko Gaspar and then finding this clip of her routine at last year's Sothern Hemisphere championships. Not so much a routine, more a dangerously high voltage sex-charged strut around the stage.

And then I strted imagining licking the sweat clean off Adriana Bernal's glory, taking my time on those veins for sure. I imagined how much Tali Coelho could make by e-baying the chance to be the hand - and how much I could bid up to without having to remortgage. Then I found myself flicking between Yulia Kalinova's perfect pack and Melissa Wee and her veins having all sorts of naughty naughty thoughts.



The thought of running my fingers along the side of Helle Larsen's rock hard midsection did nothing to quell my desires, as you can imagine I'm sure. Well worth an Instagram follow is Helle - she can be absolutely ripped freak mental in the gym.



I was curious about investigating Greek Bodyfitness champ Stella Papapostolou because I knew she'd been getting a lot of love on the forums, but once I'd discovered why that was (see above for illustration) I kind of stopped researching and started recreationing instead. A trick of the light it may be to some extent, but those ridges look like they need their own Ordanance Survey map. Fast train to swoontown.



An another name and set of perfect abs which had been cropping up (on the mighty PumpItUp for example) was Caroline Bergoee, Danish Bodyfitness phenomenon. And I am very happy to add to the chatter about her. Abs like these, and just 18.



Emmanuelle Ethier we have met before, a little while ago now, and very much abs related. And since then, she doesn't seem to have been slacking on the chiselling. If anyone asks where the obliques are, just point them in the direction of Emmanuelle.



Guess who?! No abs post is complete without her. It's like a law.

QUEEN OF QUADS

The last day of Rolling Thunder, and yes, the Queen has some treats for you...

1. ALEKSANDRA RUDENKO

NEW LEGS ON THE BLOCK



Despite the name, "Sasha" is from Norway, the 2014 Norwegian Masters Physique champion, most recently in action at the Arnold Europe in Madrid, where her incredible legs weren't quite enough to get her into the top 10 in her (up to 163cm) class. Fear not, though, because she and they feature in Muscle Appeal's new preview of Beautiful Muscular Women from Europe - Sasha is on after sexy Susanna Tirpak, and, yes, there is up close quad flexing included. Short but very very sweet.

2. LAURA CAROLAN

SHOCK & AWE



In Tampa this year, and at her first pro show since 2012 (and only her second since 1995!) Canada's Laura Carolan certainly had the kind of conditioning that catches the eye. But it was her work with Awefilms after the show that is likely to live longest in the memory, and it's a screen cap from this that we present today.

It's the kind of look (and you can see a few more caps from the video here) that can make the non-female muscle headed community panic and run for cover, and can even divide female muscle lovin' opinion like an "in/out" European referendum.

3. CYNTHIA COLON

THUNDER THIGHS



She started in Figure, would you believe, but after some initial success was told she was "too big", had "too much muscle". This was back in 2009, long before the Physique division had been created, so Cynthia went straight up to Bodybuilding, first as a Middleweight and then as a Heavyweight - despite being only 5'2" (1.57m). She earned her pro card in 2011, and was next seen in the Physique division at the New York Pro in 2013, where she finished 14th and which was the last we saw of her on stage.



She doesn't seem to have any concrete plan to compete again as yet, or if she does, she isn't letting on, but that hasn't stopped her magnificent legs becoming the stuff of female muscle lovin' legend. She owns some [!} of the most gorgeous, super pumped up dancer's legs ever on an FBB, says one forum poster, clearly too overcome by Cynthia's thunder to count to two. And the rest of her is damn nice too, he adds.

Rather ironically at this stage, it occurs to me now that just about everything I've been enjoying about the other 98 thighs we've featured this week could have been summed up with just two. And both of them belong to Alina Popa. Thickness, curvaceous aesthetic sweeping lines, ripped and rippling quads. She has it all. In spades.



And with Iris having announced her retirement over, I can't help thinking that female bodybuilding needs Alina to get back to her swoonworthy best in 2016, because as much as I can admire Iris for her achievements, the last thing the sport needs is for her to monopolise the Rising Phoenix as she did the Ms Olympia. And with all due respect to the Queen of Quads, Alina is still the best chance there is to stop that happening.



Turns out it is no easy thing to choose your favourite Alina quad shots, no easy thing at all. I'm exhausted I tell you, it's been swoon after swoon after swoon. Seems I really like how Chris Zimmerman frames those prime pieces of female muscle meat.



And I even set myself the thankless task of picking a favourite Alina quad gif as well. I have to admit ths isn't the highest definition example I could find, but there's something about the way all those different peaks of quad muscle start popping (Popa-ing!) up as she jiggles her feet up and down that I find absolutely irresistible.

You are probably expecting Alina to be the "big finish", but cool your, er, thing there fella. The Queen has one last beautiful treat for your viewing pleasure, so I hope you have just a little left for our final pair of thunder thighs...
