Rene is, according to our voters, the hottest hard woman in the UK, the Best of British.
She finished 4th in her first ever pro show in 2013, then left us wondering if we had seen the last of her. However, she has continued to train, as well as to do photo and video shoots. So unless someone else knows different, we shouldn't call time on Rene's career just yet. And thankfully so. It would be a huge loss if she were to turn away from the sport, and not only for us British fans. Rene received votes from all over the world. She's a global female muscle star.
Five years ago I went to support a friend of mine at a bodybuildng competition where, instead of giggling at a bunch of men in trunks, I found myself transfixed by the women's bodies, Rene told Cosmopolitan in October last year. They were muscular but still feminine, which appealed to me. I decided then to transform my own body. And five years and a bit years later, what a spectacular body she has!

LOANA MUTTONI

For fans, I suspect, the Loana highlight of the year was provided by images like the ones above that showcase her extreme vascularity. It was them veins, wasn't it? And if it wasn't them veins, it was probably Loana's on stage performances. Definition to burn and sexy in the "only the Brazilians can do it quite like that" style.
Did you know? In 2005, Loana won both NABBA Worlds and NABBA Universe titles.
Normally, I'm all for municipal sports facilities. But I am damn glad that Loana Muttoni's local rink in São Paulo closed. My life as competitive athlete started with figure skating. I did it for 4 years but I had to quit because the only ice rink arena here closed. So what did you do next Loana? I started weightlifting...

I'm aware that FMS isn't the only place where you can see a lot of Sophie, but I'm sure my banging on about her and how irresistibly sexy I find her over the last year or so must have had some effect on the way some of you voted. Surely!
Maybe I had nothing to do with it. After all, Sophie seems to say all the right things. [In the gym] I love to wear tight clothes, she says, so that I am able to see every little muscle working. And then there's that face. And that smile...
Yep, I think it's fair to say that Swell here is pretty much enraptured with Sophie. And the fact that she has, without ever competing, finished so high in our poll, indicates to me that I'm probably not alone in having fallen under the Sophie spell.

She was a Woman of the Year on this blog in 2011, and remains an FMS favourite. We say there are fewer finer sights in the world of female muscle than Penpraghai flexing those sculpted glutes of hers. Ultimate glutes control! reads one description on her Clips4Sale page. Fon in sexy golden slingshot bikini showing off her iron glutes and powerful legs... Instant hard-on guaranteed! it promises. Quite rightly, we think.
The Thai muscle goddess is the highest placed Asian woman on our Hot and Hard list.
People [keep] telling me I am a great inspiration for them, she says. And more than a few voters seem to have been "inspired" by her. Puts the "P" in "PERFECTION"! wrote one in a comment accompanying their vote. Another told us "Fon" is the very last word in beauty and power, more appealing each time I see her. Just about perfect. While another wondered, How could someone not get turned on by her?

EVA ANDRESSA VIEIRA

Although she ended up in 16th place, during the first week when votes started to come in to the FMS inbox, it looked as though we'd be posting these pictures of Eva tomorrow, with the rest of the Top Ten, as part of our final countdown.
She's known in her native Brazil as Musa Fitness, 'The Fitness Muse'. She's on magazine covers, in advertising campaigns, and, as FMS reported last year, has appeared in at least one music video. According to one voter from the US, who placed her third on his list, She's a phenomenon. Beautiful, marketable... she will be iconic.
And check it out. This, I reckon will be music to your ears - Eva began lifting at the age of 17. Why? Because she felt her body was too skinny. What a woman! What a country!

ANDREIA BRAZIER
2013 WBFF World Champion Fitness Model
I don't see anyone else who can say they do more for the fitness industry, says the voter who selected Andreia as his number 1. Physical perfection...
And a champion. In 2013 she became the WBFF World Champion for the second consecutive year. What makes her so good? Incredible physique, double-take definition, carved abs, drop-dead looks, and dazzling stage presence, according to Dustin Lepray on Bodybuilding.com.
Claiming her as British (as we've done before) is probably a bit far-fetched, but it is still a comforting thought for a Brit like me that she married one of us and lived and worked here for so long. Now she's based in Dubai with the personal training company A1 Life Style, helping her clients to become the best they can be.

TINA CHANDLER

Tina competed three times in 2013, and finished 3rd in Chicago and 4th in Tampa to qualify for her fourth Ms Olympia. 2014 is Tina's seventh year as a pro, and it seems to me that last year she looked as good as she has done since her 2010-2011 vintage.
This British boy was brought up believing that in Texas everything's bigger. Looking at Tina I'm as convinced of that as I've ever been. The total muscular package. Huge everywhere (including, we can only surmise, in places Tina doesn't show us). And I don't know about you, but I am an absolute sucker for the strong FBB-only jawline. And to top it all that exotic Southern accent carried along on her deep, rich voice.
SHE EXUDES SEXY! writes a Tina fan (his capitals). Indeed she does. Sexy in a Texan way. Sexy in a BIG way (my capitals). It's a wonder I can type at all right now.

SUZY KELLNER
Black Panther
Suzy's new moniker (above) probably isn't a tribute to Huey Newton, but we think it's pretty cool anyway. She's dark, she's dangerous. She's strong and silky. She can purr and she can roar. A predator. Physical power and killer instinct. Yikes!
One of FMS' Women of the Year for 2013, Suzy was, you may remember, once hospitalised due to her severe anorexia, and recently hospitalised (see Suzy vs Car) after "an idiot" ran her and friend Sylvia Andrassy over just before Christmas. Fortunately, no lasting damage was done to the beautiful body she has rebuilt from the wreck of her anorexic self. I AM indestructi!!!!! Suzy assures us.
Just what is it that makes Suzy so sexy, so appealing? We think, as we've said before, it has a lot to do with her attitude. We think that, better than any woman since Dena Westerfield, she is able to communicate through her posing the joy (the ecstasy even) of being in her own muscular body. And there's nothing more exciting for this female muscle fan than a woman who can do that.

CINDY LANDOLT

Pretty much perfect before, we were treated in 2013 to a new and improved Cindy as she showed off her enhancements in (tantalisingly not quite) all their glory.
But enhancements aside, she is undoubtedly carrying more muscle now, muscle that is more defined than before. And it's working for her. More clients for her business, more admirers for her Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. There's even been talk of a film role as a comic book super-heroine. Whatever you may think about those bolt-ons, if Cindy is the new role model, if hers is the look the "strong is sexy" generation are going to aspire to, then her look will do very very nicely indeed.
And if you think she's not getting quite as famous as we fans (with our heads buried in the world of female muscle) think she is, then check this Skype blog out. Seems to me the world is beginning to wake up to what we've known for some time...

My interest in bodybuilding was fueled by Cory Everson. I read Flex Appeal and Perfect Parts by Rachel McLish and Hard Bodies by Gladys Portugues. I found women with muscle to be very intriguing, sexy and alluring.
Not my confession (eerily true though it is of me). Nor a voter's. It's Marina's. And now it's Marina who's the intriguing, sexy and alluring woman with muscle. In fact she's so intriguing, sexy and alluring that you the readers gave her your votes in sufficient number to leave her just one place away from the Top Ten.
And given that her long-term goal is, in her own words, to remain feminine and be sexy with muscle, we don't envisage her popularity waning any time soon.
